Payed a large sum of money for multiple night and when I arrived I was expecting a nice room but all I received was a room that looked like it had never seen so much a duster. As I was finally was attempting to get ready for bed I discovered several roaches. When I went to see about maybe a refund or at least a room change to somewhere without insects and the person who ran it spoke down to me like I was child

We had a blast at this hotel. The owners were nice and stayed up to make sure we got in alright. They kept in touch on the week leading up to make sure we had everything we needed and when we got there it was nice and clean. So much stuff to see. So much history on the walls. A very cool place to have drinks downstairs or just eat a snack before a walk by the river. Will definitely go back!

Terrible owners. I booked a stay here and paid. The town lost power and when i came they turned me away. They refused a refund or any kind of compensation and said that since I didn’t get the insurance from bookings.com that I was out of luck and wouldn’t be refunded. Who does business like that? They took my money and refused to give it back even though they didn’t provide the product(a stay). You won’t find integrity there- do not trust!

This hotel consists of an old Victorian mansion, full of interesting items on display. You could spend hours studying the many books, pictures, knick-knacks, and other items in the place. The hotel has a relaxing, quaint feel to it. Our room was very large and comfortable. The place is run by a family, a couple and their 3 children. Everyone was very friendly. The bed was very comfortable and the air conditioning was fine on a very hot day. We got a GREAT gift package from them, with wine, a massage device, some candy, etc.). They have some interesting items for sale as well. ||We really loved this place, but I will mention some potential negatives. There are lots of stairs, so this might not be ADA compliant. Parking is on the street, but the neighbors are friendly and did not mind us parking there (we asked!). Because of COVID, breakfast was a breakfast sandwich and a cinnamon roll in the fridge, with some OJ. On the other hand, we had a sit down dinner there that was quite good! We just had grilled cheese sandwiches and a nice Caprese-type salad.

I am really glad I was able to find this hotel for my Shawnee National Forest trip considering the fact that I decided to travel there at the last second. The hosts that live at the property are the nicest and most accomodating people. I very much enjoyed my stay at the Riverview Mansion Hotel. I always like finding unique accommodation and this hotel decorated in victorian style was a perfect weekend getaway. I also liked the restaurant available to hotel guests with housemade meals and an excellent selection of beer and wines. I would definitely come back again.

The perfect spot for a relaxing get away. Centrally located for sightseeing Garden of the Gods, Bill Smith Springs, and many other waterfalls and parks. Beth was the nicest host, possibly ever! And the true star of this trip was the quaint bar that reminds me of the best European pubs. Tony has curated some amazing beers and wines. The best selection I’ve seen anywhere.

My husband and I stayed the night and found it to be the perfect little getaway. The on site bar was very cool and it offers many wines and beer from around the world. The room we stayed in was well decorated (SO many knick knacks to enjoy) and comfortable. The mattress was ah-ma-zing. Such a good nights sleep (if you like a softer mattress which we do). We also enjoyed our breakfast. The hospitality was incredible and we'll definitely show up again. We stayed in the honeymoon suite, which does not have a shower - so if you are OK with a bath only, then this is OK for you. We also stayed in August, and found some rooms within the mansion to be on the warmer side. Our room had an a/c unit, so it was fine.||Oh - by the way stop at the Chocolate Factory on the way in or out. It's some of the best chocolate we ever ate (and I can only do sugar free).

The riverview inn is a unique and dark historic home filled with interesting antiques and electric decor. It was a good location for hiking in the Shawnee forest and checking out some of the local attractions such as breweries in Paducah and the Superman Museum in metropolis. We were greeted with a gift bag with snacks, a bottle of wine, and bath stuff like Loofahs, hairbrush, etc.

The Victorian style room was large with an attached bathroom. There was a mini fridge and a coffee maker in the room . The mini fridge was stocked with breakfast foods (packaged pastries, yogurts, bananas). It had a weird smell to it, previous guests must had left some old food in the freezer part that I threw out, after that it was fine. There is wifi in the home that is somewhat spotty but I did have cell phone service in the town of Golconda which was nice (not the case in some of the surrounding areas).

There is a little bar downstairs with a large beer and wine selection. The owner will cook food for you and serve it to you down there on weekends or will bring it to your room. Like most of the food in the area the food was good, mostly fried, and portions were huge. There may have been another guest at the time we were staying but I didn’t run in to any other guests or customers. There is also a local spot (Divers down) that is open late-ish.

The owner Beth was very nice and responsive to our needs, she offered that we can call her 24/7 with any concerns. She lives with her family and pets in the back part of and top part the home-they were very quiet. I met her friendly and cute tiny dog a few times running around the outside.

The price was a bit high ($200+ per night) and there may be more affordable options in the area but overall I had a very pleasant stay and recommend it for those who are looking for a different and unique experience.
