It was fine. Close to where I was going in Machesney Park. The room was clean, the bathroom was bright with nice amenities and the bed, including the comforter and pillows were very comfortable. Lots of channel choices on DIRECTV. The hotel itself is a bit aged, although they have remodeled parts of it. The room was completely renovated and was good. Not a lot of other features.

Positive: Staff was amazing and accomidating. We had an incident happen with our eldest child where he was sick, staff understood the situation and was able to relocate us to a new room without issues. Overall experiance was great, staff made it much better. Negative: Some rooms do have age but thats understandable. First room, the door mechanisim didn't work properly and didnt allow entry, our final room we moved to, Heating unit was blowing cool air instead of heat, even set to 80+ degrees, wasn't a deal breaker.

It was a very interesting place, reminding me of the movie The Shining. When we first got there, there were issues, but the service made it right, and they were very pleasant people. The buffet was not the greatest. There was always cold food, and it took forever to get fresh food. It's not a bad place to stay, but when you go there, you must ask about the pig at the main entrance. It is an interesting Italian folklore.

We decided to take a night out to Rockford and catch an Icehogs game. We also wanted to stay in a place that wouldn't be like every other hotel. This place did NOT disappoint! It was full of charm, the staff was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the property, and the suite we stayed in was great! We took a tour of the hotel because it is absolutely huge. They have a beautiful ballroom and a special suite that is full of ornate antiques called the Sultan Room. Our suite had a second floor with an ensuite bedroom, so that our young son could sleep downstairs. It was reasonably priced as well! The view on the river was great and we had a nice, hot breakfast overlooking the river. We were planning our next trip before we left. It was an amazing experience and weekend & we will definitely be back soon!

I’ve never written a review for a hotel before, but I stayed one night here and feel the need to! I was stopping through on a drive from the east coast to MN, and it was such a lovely place to stop and work the following day before hitting the road the next day. The rooms were lovely, the view from the breakfast room was so pretty (it had just snowed!) and every single conversation I had with the staff was extremely lovely - and I talked to probably 5-6 people! Especially having stopped in so many hotels along long drives, I’m used to them feeling like just a place to sleep and get out of, feeling like I (and my dog) were “in the way” or feeling guilty about bringing my dog with me, but we felt so welcomed here and if I’m ever stopping through the same town again I’ll absolutely be staying here

The staff at the front desk was nice speedy and helpful. Kitchen staff did excellent, I think having a tip jar out for them would be great. View of the river is very nice. Our bed was comfy, room and some other areas of the hotel could use some maintenance repair but overall appearance and cleanliness was good. We enjoyed the pool and workout room.

We had a wonderful stay here while we visited family for the holidays. The staff was wonderful and friendly, the daily breakfast was delicious, and we were grateful for the convenience of the 24-hour fitness center and the proximity to the bike path. As expected, the river views from the floor to ceiling windows of the dining area were beautiful, and the lobby was decorated to feel so cozy and festive. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. We will absolutely stay here again!

A bit outdated but nice overall. The hallways were creepy. Reminded me of a scary movie. 😆 Didn't like how they only provided 2 towels for a room that fits 4. We had to go to the counter to grab towels, but had it ready when we got to the desk. Shower was great. They weren't serving hot breakfast that morning, so we skipped on it. Overall not a bad stay. Too bad I didn't see the "great view" they were talking about. All I saw was the parking lot. Lol
