This was our first time staying at a B & B and what a delightful experience. Jon and Lois are excellent hosts. The rooms are beautiful and extremely clean. The breakfast was beyond belief, bacon, sausage, eggs, breakfast bread, coffee, juice. I needed to bring sweat pants after eating everything! The property is beautiful and well kept. If you want an excellent place to stay this is it.

This is a true B & B with welcoming hosts, clean and comfortable rooms, beautifully situated in a grove of oak trees. Breakfast is NOT your typical air b&b frozen croissant and Keurig coffee. Breakfast is a sumptuous feast with enough choices to satisfy a horde of hungry travelers. Good conversation and good humor prevail. When we return to Mariposa to visit family, we will always stay here.

We had three nights of comfort and great hospitality. It is in the middle of the countryside closest town Mariposa (7 miles) a great stepping stone for both the West and South entrances to Yosemite.|Thank you|The town had typical American eateries, the Raman restaurant was good.

Words can’t explain how much we loved staying at this bed and breakfast. Lois and John are the absolute best host and made us feel like family. They hosted us and our friends from Germany for a good bye breakfast. We ate the food for days due to the amount they prepared. It was delicious. Highly recommended!! We stayed at many locations on our 17 day road trip from Florida to Oregon and this was by far the best.

We had such a lovely stay at the Restful Nest! Lois and Jon were thoughtful, interesting hosts, who made the most delicious (and enormous!) breakfast I've ever had at a BNB. The spacious grounds are beautiful, with ponds, open lawns, a cute well, views and a pool and hot tub. Our room was large and quiet, with a super comfortable bed. I hope I get to stay there again!

We had a great stay at the Restful Nest. Lois and Jon were fun and thoughtful hosts, who made a delicious (and enormous!) breakfast. The grounds are several acres and really beautiful, with ponds, open lawns, a cute well, views and a pool and hot tub. Our room was large and quiet, with a super comfortable bed. I'd stay again any time.

My husband and I stayed with Lois and Jon for four nights on our recent trip to Yosemite. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We stayed in room #1. It had plenty of room and very nice home feeling. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful! On our early morning, Lois prepared warm breakfast sandwiches along with other breakfast goodies. And a thermos of hot coffee for the drive! We so enjoyed just sitting and chatting with Lois and Jon. Thanks for a great visit! Don and Dustie

My husband and I just returned home from a 6 day stay at The Restful Nest with plans to see Yosemite to celebrate an anniversary over the Thanksgiving holiday. We believe if you are fortunate enough to stay with Miss Lois and Mr. Jon, you will be treated to an experience that will leave you feeling blessed...family-like warmth and hospitality, incredibly delicious and beautifully made meals that were 4 and five courses. Daily made muffins with fruits, each day different, differing meats, sausage, thick sliced bacon, steak, pork chops, fresh fruit, yogurt (beautifully decorated), cottage cheese, avocado and tomato with basalmic vinaigrette. One day Miss Lois made a French meal called un petit dejeuner en paquet (sp.?) a feast of ham, egg and potato, green onions, puffed pastry and cheese, varied serving of eggs, several days with delicious omelettes. juice, coffee, tea. They also served us gluten free pancakes and provided my husband with low sodium food for his dietary need and bought special food to accommodate his preferences. They both ate with us and shared interesting, lively, fun and funny conversations at the table and then we were sent off to Yosemite with snack bags and well wishes. Our room was wonderful-an extension close to their their home and with a wood stove that was cozy and warm. Both Miss Lois and Mr. Jon seem to enjoy and care deeply about the travelers who come to them and that enjoyment translated to us palpably. Both Miss Lois and Mr. Jon created an atmosphere that felt like extended family. They are incredibly generous, have been doing this for 20 years, have had visitors from all over the world and have many return visitors. We felt truly blessed by them both and thank them deeply and wish them both well and hope to be one of those return visitors. Five stars doesn't seem to be enough!
