We stay here every spring. This year’s visit the hotel was fully updated. Everything looked fresh and amazing. I loved the pool updates. There’s covered seating, places to eat and gather…there’s something for every age. The staff went over board with greeting, serving, and accommodating our needs.

I treated my recently retired wife and our granddaughter with a massage at the spa, a meal at 360 grill, and a night's stay in the Renaissance Resort Hotel. Since all are on the same property and are connected, I'll include all in the review.| The spa only had the base massage available (my fault), but both raved about it, and want to return. The meal was awesome...relatively expensive, but we expected that. I had the 28 day aged ribeye, and it compares to the best steak I've ever had. Everyone said the same about theirs, and my daughter (joined us for the meal) who had the catch of the day said the fish was excellent as well.| Now the stay...the hotel has recently been updated and has no signs of age. The colors, textures, sounds and smell of even just the lobby exude elegance, and that continues to the rooms. Upscale fabrics and wall decor (our room had a pencil sketch of Aretha Franklin, and a gold record of hers) ties the facility to the tradition of the Shoals Recording Studio and the artists who made it famous. The view from our balcony included the upscale pool, Wilson Dam, and the Tennessee River in the distance, and was beautiful. The beds were very comfortable as were the pillows, and not one small noise to remind us that others were in close proximity. All that resulted in everyone having a restful and refreshing night's sleep. Long story short, there's not one drawback other than the expense. You can stay at motel 6 and dine at the greasy spoon and save some cash, but if you want to splurge and enjoy the ultimate stay in the Shoals area (Florence, Sheffield, Tuscumbia) this would be the place.

Rebranded hotel is finishing up its renovation. Room was very nice with a theme about the area's musical heritage. Staff were friendly. There's a neat outdoor pool and deck. The breakfast buffet was very nice and included an omelette station.

Our stay was fine but only three stars because the hotel wasn't back up to full speed after the renovation. Or we were too early in the season. Just small things like the outdoor pool being open but the water slide being closed. The pool bar not being able to do room charges while other locations in the hotel could. The signage was still a mix of the new Renaissance and old Marriott logos. The room towels had the tags cut off... I'm assuming that's because they used to have Marriott logos.

I don't mean this to sound overly harsh. I just want people to understand the situation when we visited in late March. I'm sure things will continue to improve and the hotel will be very nice when it hits its stride.

Gorgeous Muscle Shoals resort on the Tennessee River. Newly renovated, quiet, and has plenty of amenities. Pet friendly, kid friendly, and extremely polite and helpful staff. The history of some true music legends adorns the hotel and is a feature of the gorgeous art in the rooms. Nearby Florence, AL has a quaint downtown and lots of nightlife. This is my 4th stay, and the best yet.

We work for the power company and needed a room to stay in before the storm call. Heather at the front desk was absolutely outstanding! The staff were not only professional, but also carried a level of class that is unmatched. Service was impeccable across the board. The night we stayed, they had live entertainment in the restaurant / grill (Swampers), again, the staff were incredible and the food was second to none. In the morning we had the buffet which was fantastic as well. I cannot say enough about this hotel. Last, they have a fine dining restaurant, what could only be described as the steakhouse in the sky! It is located in the tower. The restaurant rotates. They have aged stakes by 10 to 15 years, along with a plethora of 5 star gourmet entrees. I will be definitely visiting with the family. Again, thank you, Heather and all of the staff we truly do, appreciate your hospitality and level of class.

I really appreciate the great hospitality from everyone that my wife and I met during my visit & weekend stay to check out the venue for our Tennessee Healthcare Engineering Association's Conference & Expo.||Everybody from the housekeeper, valet guys, and the staff at the restaurants were very friendly. I also want to give a special shout out for Dolly, Beth, and Matt for helping me plan for our C&E with great ideas. I believe that our attendees will be blown away with the hospitality, hotel accommodations, restaurants, and the conference center. All of our THEA board members are looking forward to coming there for the conferences.

I was turned away at the counter when attempting to make a reservation in person and instructed to call a foreign call center. How does this make sense for customer service purposes? I also saw where you deleted my previous review. I'll post this all day everyday so everyone is aware of the subpar customer policy-even for Bonvoy members.

UNDER RENOVATION. Several areas were closed and we were not advised when making reservations. Several false alarm evacuations, one resulting in the entire building evacuating to the parking lot while it was raining / sleeting early in the cold morning. No explanations, no apologies, no communications. People waiting outside at emergency exits were left outside after the " all clear" was given because only those at the front entrance were told to come back in. Other times, the lobby and restaurant were closed for a promotional photo shoot. |Rooms are clean, the food and service at Swampers are great. And to the manager driving the white Mercedes with A2CERT license plate, please slow down when racing through the parking lot EVERY morning.
