I gave this 3 stars because it priced ok, decent location to Alton.|I was raised in Alton, and lived in Godfrey for 50 years. I must've driven past this motel 1000 times. I now live in Tucson and came back for a class reunion.|I figured what the hell I need to stay at the Redwood motel once in my life.|I'm in room, 24, A recent four-star review from 2017 said that it had been upgraded and perhaps it was. However, the TV and plumbing are great. Nice size bathroom, but the owners could put some money into spiffing up the place.. The paneling walls need painting definitely, and the outside walkway could use a fresh coat of cement paint. Perhaps they could go to Goodwill or thrift store and buy some nice classy pictures to put on the wall. It's pretty stark and it would not cost much money at all. A few dollars for some nice molding would be beneficial and perhaps a few throw rugs. Yes, if they were so inclined, they could spif it up to make it look a little nicer. |maybe a small amount of landscaping in the front of the place and a person that would market their business. Having said that for 70 bucks I guess it's worth it.

SCAM!!!!!!!!! At check in I was given the price of $53 a night+$40 for deposit. At check out the price of the room became $80 a night+ $10 deposit. No way in hell was this place worth $80 a night the $53 was pushing it. The room itself was not too bad. It looked like it was in the middle of being remodeled.

At first not bad for the price until I found tv didnt work and the heater could not keep the place warm. I was staying there bc of a fire I told the owner I was getting in contact with redcross to help bc I ran out of money. No problem stay, was the response, a few hours go by and I get informed they can't help. In all the issues I had 2 weeks had past. I start packing and walk up to return key. Dude is.screaming in my face wont listenabout the red cross. Screaming i have to give him 30, I didnt have it. He threatened me not only y calling the cop(kinda get that), but with violence and death

Do not stay here it is disgusting. The people are rude as hell. I have no idea why these people saying they nice. They are run down and ghetto. It is is disgusting. The bathroom is the worst. The bedroom horrible. Minmoe fridge disgusting. Microwave disgusting. And tbey have the worst case of bed bugs i have ever seen.

My boyfriend and I were looking for a hotel/motel who would let 18 y/o get a room. They let us. Really chill we smoked all night and nobody said anything. We ran out of cups and needed towels and they gave it too us and was very nice asking if we needed anything else. Rooms could’ve been cleaner but you get what you pay for. Someone knocked on our door at 930am and asked if we wanted him to clean and we said we were about to leave so he said he would come back. very very nice people. I recommend it especially if you don’t want to be worried about any strict rules or need somewhere just to hang out because the prices were very good

Only gave one star because I had to. The place is infested with bed bugs. When asked for refund I was told that's not how it works to give the key back. Got the owner on video saying everyone knows they got bed bugs. Absolutely disgusted.

I was just there Nov 16 2018... And it's not worth uh thing I called the health department.... I came in the room the heat unit wouldn't stay on 3 minutes tops I seen roaches wall table top... The lady told me I couldn't get not even half of my 60 bucks back I slept in my car and sucked it up.... Even if it's not the best hotel it still should be presentable definitely in a Godfrey IL location to many taxes get paid out there... There's more then one school close to the location i kno they can shut that place down..
