We drove an hour in the rain on a Friday night at 5 to have their Friday night fish fry. The service was great. All 4 of us had cocktails and we split the bruschetta. The tomato salad on top of the fresh buffalo mozzarella was amazing. Two of us had the Lake Perch it also was amazing. It was light and of so tasty you don’t even need tartar sauce!! Two had the Captain trio, cod, lake perch and coconut shrimp. We then had two desserts. Everything was so delicious. We were so happy that we came the distance. Parking is kind of challenging. Definitely watch out for the train as you walk from the parking lot to the restaurant. For 4 of us with tip we spent $250. I have already recommended this place to everyone I’ve talked to.

Everything about this place was awesome. I was there for a banquet and the food was better than almost any other buffet style food I've had. They also had amazing chicken fingers for the kids. The bartender was super helpful, and the wait staff was all polite and attentive.

The dining room on the first floor is what I call "old school romantic". If you've ever gone to Jack Desmond's, you'll get the idea.

Give it a shot. If you're in town, it will be well worth the time.

Public Landing is such a cool place — love the historic vibe and pretty views of the canal! The food is always on point (highly recommend the steaks and seafood), and the drinks are great too. Staff is super friendly and makes you feel right at home. Perfect for date night or a chill dinner with friends. Definitely a fave in town!

This place was really cool to walk in to. There was a mini museum and a great outdoors area. The server was right on. Not too intrusive, but there when you needed him. The food was fine, but I ordered the pork chop medium and it came out well done. A big pet peeve of mine. Why do you ask me how I want it done, if it is going to come out dry. If it had been cooked to temp, I’m certain it would have been great. One of my guest ordered steak frites and what she got was great tenderloin medallions covered in not great potato straws. Would not recommend. Overall, I might try it again, but with so many great options in the Chicago area, it would be because I was in a hurry and this place was close.

I am here once a week if not more, I can not say enough good things. Owner is on point with the food, service, and Atmosphere. I have never been disappointed. Top notch employees Always accommodating right down to the bus boys who are so polite and on top of things, clearing plates refilling water just so nice. I have Raved about this place to my colleagues and friends. They are in agreement and love their dining experience. Oh and Probably the best old-fashioned you’ll ever taste in your life right down to the special cubes

We’re longtime patron of the Public Landing restaurant always have a wonderful experience there and a great meal as a hostess and hosts greet warmly at the door. See you at your seat . and the waiters and waitresses I’ve been there a long time and their service is impeccable. Dan will come by the tables and ask how everything is and chat with you if you’re a few minutes and he makes you feel like you’re at home with a friend food is always top-notch and changes with the season experience and recommended. The building is really cool. The Gaylord building thanks for the great dining experience.

Had a great time at Public Landing - I cannot say enough about the service we had here. It was amazing and better than expected; all staff went above and beyond in assuring that we had a wonderful time. We were there for a brunch baby shower. Food was very good and the mimosas were delicious, with our server making sure everyone's glasses were always filled. I would definitely come back if we had another event.
