Course was a blast! Grass was cut well and all holes were in excellent condition. Great value for an afternoon round. There’s a decent amount of sand, but the course really wasn’t too challenging. Tall grass throughout will lead to some lost balls.

Impressed with all of the course staff too. Quick pace of play, polite service, and clean bathrooms. Didn’t stop to eat but the restaurant area looked superb. I’ll be back soon!

This is related to the reservation/pro shop only and not the course. We have a competitive group that sometimes needs 3-4 foursomes. Some courses consider that an outing, so I always offer to pre-pay. At Prairie Bluff I've booked this for 7 years, never an issue, and they've been wonderful to us. Trying to schedule a round, called to book 3 groups and was flat out DENIED being able to book. I asked the person in the pro shop who took the call to look at my past reservations so they could see this has been done for years and years. He said he saw them but added they DO NOT ALLOW anyone to book more than 2 groups, which again I've done for years.

Asked to speak to the GM. Not only DENIED being able to speak to him, but told "that's who made the policy, why do you think he'll give you a different answer?"

There are lots of options in the area, we'll just go somewhere that appreciates a guaranteed payment.

Well maintained links course. Challenging and fun. Fair prices and 9 hole play available. Played morning after rain and only a few places were squishy. Greens were in good shape for a public course.

We had the opportunity to have a great meal at Prairie Bluff this evening. We were there during Happy Hour (3-6) on a Tuesday and thrilled to find all of their apps were 1/2 off as well as 1/2 off pizzas, and a $7 burger of your choice and fries. Jodie was our server and she was fantastic! Very helpful and attentive without being intrusive at all. The chef has a flavor profile that is both pleasant and unexpected…just enough to really enjoy everything we’ve had there. A real find for both lunch and dinner. And they now serve brunch on Sundays! Great location, easily accessible for those requiring assistance or wheelchairs. A wonderful experience that we will repeat on a regular basis.

Beautifully conditioned golf course, with a links layout. Some of the best conditioned fairways in Chicago (they are immaculate). For $39 to walk, this is an absolute steal.

Decided to take a friend (who doesn’t golf much) out for a round at Prairie Bluff. At the first hole we were sent back to the clubhouse because we were told there is absolutely no sharing clubs. My buddy was planning on using my clubs to learn the game, but had to spend an extra $20 on rentals. By the 10th hole the rental driver snapped on a clean drive. Employees were very rude about it, and took his name and contact information (likely to send a bill). I know this isn’t the courses fault, but other golfers were extremely disrespectful, as well. Employees were unwelcoming and condescending from the start. If you plan to rent clubs, don’t golf here. If you plan to play at your own pace, don’t play here. If you plan to play unsupervised by staff, don’t play here. The only good thing I can say about this course is that it is moderately well kept and worth a $43 round. Otherwise, I’d give it 0/5 stars.

The course presents interesting challenges and the fairways were in terrific condition. I liked the emphasis on ensuring a decent pace of play. After the round, dinner was superb with great service. This was a great day!
