Location can't be beat! Walkable to so many restaurants around Monterey. Right on the amazing bike path. The hotel is very quaint. I loved the lobby and bar area. Fitness Center is very nice. I did my first spa visit ever and loved it! Rooms are very cozy and got some great sleeps. Price isn't too bad either.

Great New Year’s Eve party, great location, beautiful lobby and nice rooms. Looking forward to other events they will host this year. There was a short line at the check in which got processed super fast as they were well staffed. Quick, efficient, polite service. Food at Jack’s was delicious. This is a very nice hotel and I would stay here again if visiting Monterey

This is a perfect location. 5 minutes walking to the wharf, 5 minutes walking to downtown. 20 minutes walking to Cannery Row. The room was incredible and housekeeping was good, except we had to request it for 3 days as it is not mandatory except for Saturdays. No microwave in the room but I called and one was delivered. The bed was comfortable and a firmer pillow was provided in the closet. The room was quiet and the TV was functioning and useful.

Great, upscale hotel with comfortable rooms and friendly service. You cannot beat the location, given its proximity to downtown and the warf. The only issue with location is the hotel being next to the conference, causing it to be crowded with non-hotel guests, who made it difficult to get in and out, and the staff not asking them to remove their parked vehicles from the 3-minute loading zone. Would stay here again, but would be more mindful on events happening next door.

Portola Monterey is a top notch facility just steps away from the old city center on one side and the beautiful wharf on the other. Facility is clean and the staff friendly. ||||Walk out the door of the hotel and you're in the heart of Monterey beauty. Shops, food, views are abundant. The Portola is the perfect place for couples, families or friends getaway.||||We've visited twice and will come again!

Portola hotel and spa is one of our favorite places to stay in Monterey. It is central to everything! You can literally walk anywhere for an enjoyable and relaxing weekend. The room and service is phenomenal- our car battery died and the staff didn’t hesitate to help give us a jump. We hosted our goodbye breakfast with the help of Amber and it was the BEST way to wrap up our wedding weekend. The breakfast had ample food for our guests that was high quality- even including to go cups of coffee. We truly loved our stay and appreciative to all team members for making it exceptional.

We booked a suite with a hospitality room with our almost 2 year old. It was a dream. The staff are friendly and nice. The rooms are beautifully decorated and clean. The bathrooms are spacious. The room and the hospitality room both had gorgeous views of the bay. You could watch the sunrise or sunset. I would love to stay here again.
