Stayed here in 2006 and loved having the lake to ourselves and all of the floating equipment. Our kids couldn't understand why we didn't stay here the whole trip instead of driving around the state. ❤ Our favorite memory.

Great stop along the way to McCarthy in Wrangell St Elias. A hidden gem for sure. The proximity to the park was what we liked best. This log cabin is perfect with a comfy bedroom, good sized kitchen-living room and small bathroom. The lake was peaceful & quiet. They have boats for you to get out on the lake and fish a bit. I loved the decorations, the bear theme was adorable! Great place to relax after a full day in the park.

Brought my cousins here as part of their tour of Alaska (we live in Homer, Alaska). This cabin is adorable, quite comfortable, and perfectly situated for adventures in the area. Gail was very helpful and accommodating, and her muffins are scrumptious! We used the cabin as a base for travels to Valdez, Chitina, and Copper Center, and if we'd had more time, we would have gone to Kennecott from here. Highly recommend, very relaxing spot that's also well equipped. As family-related couples traveling together, we were quite happy with the one bedroom/one futon setup and sharing the one bathroom. No Wifi (yay!), but our cellphones worked well.

Absolutely adorable and perfect cabin on a gorgeous AK lake! It accommodated our family of 4 comfortably. Gail provides breakfast items for you to make your own breakfast which is a very nice touch. She also provides a paddle boat, kayak, and canoe for use of the guests, as well as a swing and a fire pit where we made Smore‘s one night. Gail’s hospitality was fantastic and we really enjoyed our stay. The only drawback was the shower was very small. If we are in the area again, we would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend! Thank you Gail!

We are a family of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids) and we stayed there just one night. It was just beautiful and I wish we had stayed 2-3 days. The cabin is cute and clean. But the real draw is the lake that is gorgeous. We used the kayaks, the pedal boat and the row boat to go explore the lake. There is a beautiful deck on the lake as well. There are no grocery stores nearby so make sure you arrive with what you need. Mosquitoes were present but really not overwhelming.

What a lovely little log cabin on a gorgeous lake in the heart of the Copper River Valley. Walked in to the smell of freshly-baked coffee cake and cookies on a platter for us. Refrigerator was also stocked with water bottles, juice, milk and eggs - totally set up for breakfast. What a treat - wonderful hospitality! The cabin was perfect for my husband and me, small and cozy. Bed in bedroom was comfy and place was clean, well appointed for our needs. No WiFi or TV, but we adjusted and enjoyed. There are DVDs, several of which are films created by local high school projects and are focused on the history of the area: building the railroad, stampeders and Kennicott/McCarthy. We enjoyed these films, as we explored all those areas. We were there in mosquito season and they didn't disappoint! But Gail provided a zapper and we adapted to all the tricks to keep them at bay. It was cool while we were here and we were off adventuring and exploring each day (McCarthy-Kennicott, hiking, Valdez, Thompson Pass hiking trails), so we did not get out on the lake. But it is a lovely little lake that beckons during the plentiful daylight hours. We enjoyed a couple of dinners at the Whistle Stop Pub/Cafe at the Princess Lodge. Gail and Scott were helpful and friendly in providing tips for local hikes, contacts for boat adventures and whatever you might need. We enjoyed our stay and hope to be back someday!

We spent two nights on Pippin Lake. The adorable cabin on the lake was just what we'd hoped for after getting out of Anchorage. The views from the dock were stunning, to include Mt Wrangell. Our hostess Gail had the kitchen well stocked with a variety of breakfast fare for us to enjoy on our own, including some fresh cookies and muffins. The location proved to be a great jumping off point for our day trip to McCarthy/Kennicott.

This is a very nice place to stay. You can use a canoe or kayak or paddle boat which is great to get perfect views of the mountains. The cabin itself is clean and gives you a real Alaska feeling. Don't forget that you are basically in the middle of nowhere and you need some time to get to a restaurant or grocery store from here. The only small downside for us was the breakfast. It was not bad since there were muffins, orange juice, yoghurt...but we were used to a bigger choice of breakfast items in other B&B's. Overall we really enjoyed our stay here.
