Very relaxing setting. We were there in December and of course the river was frozen over but beautiful. Not a lot to do within walking distance and not a lot of restaurants either. They have a car service, but a little pricey unless you’re sharing it with others.
They have a complimentary breakfast with good selections and ice cream for $1.50 every night. Staff is very helpful and friendly.

Great stay and great service. It was a busy Thanksgiving day but I think that was the best time. Shuttle to and from the airport was quick. Stayed in one of the Cabin suites and it was perfect. Great location and the restaurant was nearby. I used Uber and Taxi service and they had no issues. Would have liked to use the shuttle to the local Fred Myers but I was told it wasn't authorized.

Pikes front desk is efficient and pleasant. Getting the shuttle to the airports (Fairbanks and Wright Air Service) was so easy and fast. The drivers were all excellent. We were not actually in the hotel that long since we used it for short stayovers prior to flights but the time spent there was excellent. Highly recommend this property.

Overall we liked the hotel very much. Breakfast was VERY GOOD every morning. We booked the 3rd floor, Aurora Viewing Suites with the hope that the Northern Lights would be visible from our balcony. However, it clearly says "If You're Lucky" on the sign outside the room. They are CORRECT!! There were 3 LARGE trees right in front of our room AND there really is too much light pollution being in the Fairbanks area. You HAVE to drive out of the city lights to view the lights. You only need to drive about 20 min to get out of the light pollution. We went on a tour about 2 hours away and saw the MOST INCREDIBLE light show that you would NEVER see within the city limits. Staff was GREAT!!

Pikes is an absolutely wonderful place to stay. I’ve lived in Alaska my whole life and grew up about 100 miles outside of Fairbanks. Pikes has been my go to when I need to stay overnight for almost 20 years. The staff is always courteous, the rooms are always clean and comfortable. This is an Alaskan owned business, not some chain hotel and the difference shows in the way they treat their guests. They offer an incredible amount of guest services whether you’re a local or visiting our state for the first time. They have a great breakfast spread for any diet and Pikes Landing just across the parking lot has some delicious dinner options. If you’re a tourist or local just needing extra time for a Costco run, I can’t recommend this place enough

The front desk was extremely nice and very helpful. The luggage attendants were very courteous. The grounds were beautiful with lots of beautiful flowers. We were hoping to have a view of the water front but we could not see it. We like having windows with nice views. Instead of a room with an aurora view, we had a view of the roof top.the bright side was we had a nice king bed! If I was going to stay at the Pike”s Waterfront Lodge again, I would ask for an aurora viewing room.

Solid hotel close to the airport and ideal for exploring Fairbanks. We had a late arrival into Fairbanks airport, so wanted to have nearby accommodations for our first night. They offer a free airport shuttle and it was very easy to call in and have a shuttle within 10 minutes. Be sure to request a Northern Lights wake up call at the front desk when checking in. Our room was on the 1st floor very close to the lobby so it was a bit noisier since we could hear everyone passing by. We did end up getting a Northern lights call around 2am. It wasn't a very strong aurora (couldn't see any colors with the naked eye) and was a little difficult to see because there were so many lights on the property but was exciting to see on our first night. The property also has quite a few nice displays and activities, like a bocce court, billiards, and a Northern lights film.

We stayed here for 5 nights while we explored Fairbanks and surrounding area and viewed the northern lights. Hotel staff is on top of everything! Friendly at the front desk, attentive housekeeping, organized staff at breakfast. So great! Only ran into one hotel staff at the gift shop who was a bit grumpy but, hey, we all have off days. Fun/cute things around the hotel to enjoy. Very relaxing to enjoy lounging around or get out to explore the surrounding area. Airport shuttle worked fine. Only advice is don’t rely on their “aurora wake up call” we asked how they do it and it seems pretty unreliable. If you want to see lights, book a tour with a local company! We did and it was absolutely perfect.
