I average 125 nights a year at Marriott properties and Pier South, SD Marquise, and Ko Olina are my favorites. I have stayed at Pier South 20 times over the last two years and my ocean front rooms are just perfect. I have never experienced any smells, and I don’t go there to enter the beach but rather to relax at a true beach front property. They have a great happy hour led by the wonderful Sharron and if I check in with Barron behind the front desk I feel so welcomed. If you skip the roof top area or breakfast you are missing out.

What a great little hotel. We are being treated like royalty. The room is amazing. The bed is so comfortable. The view is unbelievable. The hospitality is second to none. Love the little restaurant inside the hotel. Right outside the hotel is a little brewery with amazing tacos and a cute little coffee bar for your morning needs. The room is so clean and the lobby smells amazing. Absolutely will stay here everytime we come to San Diego.

This resort was beautiful to stay at definitely the best one yet. The view of the beach was stunning from our room. I would like to thank Mr.Jones for making our stay extremely welcoming with his amazing personality alone which made it harder to leaving this place. My partner and I will definitely be visiting this place again. ☺️
Also little tip, the valet has to park your car in their lot underneath which you can access through the elevator in case you need to grab something out your car.

The rooms overlooking the ocean were absolutely INSANE! Some of the best Suite/Views I’ve ever experienced!! I ABSOLUTELY would book this resort again if I was ever in the city. Special thanks to Ronell Jones (Front office Supervisor). The smile and personality from walking in the door to me and my family set the tone for our stay, Sooooo Welcomed!! Great experience 😊

Went for a relaxing weekend, but they are currently doing construction on the restaurant. Sounded like someone was banging on our walls, and we were on the 4th floor. It was going on all day. This was never mentioned to us upon check-in or on their site.

The room was great! Front desk employees were very nice, but not very professional. Hotel seems a bit outdated for a Bonvoy Luxury Hotel. We made the best of it.

Rooms, service, location all outstanding. Had room on 2nd level overlooking the ocean, beautiful room and balcony. Staff was excellent from Jay to the GM Tim, all crew and staff were super cool and accommodating. The one ding and there is nothing the hotel staff can do is the rooms are not insulated from sound enough from floor to floor. However it was built, they didnt build with enough material between the floors. Again, nothing the hotel or staff can do, just a heads up if you hear neighbor above you. Food was great, fresh linens everyday, room was spotless and bed was super comfortable. Great ocean front value stay in San Diego market.

Ronell Jones and Beautiful (Sharon) were what made this hotel special. The views were spectacular, happy hour on the 5th floor roof patio was an added bonus. Both Ronell and Sharon took amazing care of us and treated us like old friends. They were very kind and helpful with recommendations and laughs. The room itself was spacious and comfortable- if a bit worn. Lovely relaxing low key get away.
