Pho Island - Chino, California

I was shopping at Chino Hills and felt like having soup there. I saw Pho Island across the street so I googles it. The first pic was Bun Bo Hue so I was excited because that's my favorite Viet dish is BBH. I do have some expectation since this is in Chino Hills and Chinese loves BBH. The menu was also exciting because there are many dishes that a normal Pho place wont have. However, the BBH did not meet my expectations.
First of all, the noodles were WAY overcooked that when I used choppistick to pick them up they almost broke. Secondly the pork leg piece was a good portion but lacked of favor and freshness. The broth itself was decent with a kick of spice to it. Overall the BBH was not worth the drive to Chino Hills for that.

It is located in a plaza that needs some TLC. But, the food and service here is Great! After ordering food comes out quickly and it is hot. The bean sprouts, Thai basil, green lime wedges and jalapeno are all fresh. We ordered the bone marrow which is a lot of fun to eat if you are feeling adventurous. The bone marrow is very tender that you can use the chopsticks to remove the meat and tendon if the bone. This place also serves oxtail soup which is not shown in the menu but it is posted on the wall. This is a great place to grab some grubs quickly. The portion is also generous and satisfying.

Lady at register today was rude when I ordered my food I asked for the meat to be cooked due to me being pregnant then all she said was 17 dollars and I said okay as I was trying to hand her my card she repeats her self 17 dollars I said yes again and I said meat cooked please because I wanted to make sure she heard me again I’m pregnant then she just throws me my card back instead of handing it to me nicely then she says sign and I was just looking around because the receipt wasn’t even printed yet and she’s like sign not even a please or a smile but she was smiling at everyone else as they came in to pick up their food and again throws my receipts and I said thank you once I signed it, as I got home the meat was not COOKED! I Was upset because I had to cook it myself after paying for it to be cooked and I told her twice that means she never cared she even saw that I was pregnant I forgot to take photos of the meat but here is the bag that it came in you can see the blood that the meat was raw and they forgot to give me lime and the jalapeños which is my favorite part when adding it to the pho, food was good, service was not great the only one that was nice was a young skinny lady that works there as well overall not happy.

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING ! Came here last Friday on February 9 about 5:30 PM. I ended up getting sick so I have not been able to Yelp this, first off we have been a loyal customer to this place for over five years and February 9 was the last time we will ever be here, my husband and myself and three of our children are out to dinner when my young son seven years old pulled something out of his soup attached are the pictures I couldn't even figure out what it was at first and I was stunned. I called the waitress over still confused I asked what the heck is this? And with a distressed face, she replied oh my gosh oh my gosh i so sorry I so sorry with her accent and said cook cut his finger and put that around it. I was mortified I was grossed out I was pissed off and then she said I can give another soup.
I said no we don't want anything I said where is your manager and then she showed me the sign which I have pictured and you can see below I emailed three times no response, this is absolutely disgusting and gross. We've been sick, sick to our stomach we will never be back at this establishment again!!! For them to not even respond back to me, is even more disgusting! I've already left messages with the food health inspection of Chino there was literally blood on this bandage wrapped in whatever rubber that is!!!

Always a great experience here. The food is fresh and made to order. Me and my family all love the food here. The soup is my favorite and the best one I have had. Friendly attentive staff ready to help and keeping your glass filled.

I ordered two chicken spring rolls they were good 👍, then I ordered a small beef pho, and a charbroiled mint spicy chicken plate with white rice. They were great individually and mixed together see last photo, yes, I took that home to enjoy tomorrow 😋
Overall comfortable seating, service was good ( only 3 other people were dining) and the taste was on point, not the very best I’ve ever had but above average for sure. If your in the area you must try!

I’m not sure if this is something new, but on a recent visit, my wife asked if they had carbonated water. The waitress said yes. She then brought us noncarbonated water with our food.

After we were done eating and I was at the counter to pay, she then brings us 4 glasses of carbonated water and charged me for 4 Sprites ($3.50 X 4)

First of all, I would’ve gotten soda if I knew I was going to be charged for soda. I definitely didn’t want it after we were finished eating,

Easily among the best pho spots in the area. Fast and friendly service, and they don't shortchange you a bit - high quality ingredients in a huge amount, and for such a good price. Can't recommend it enough!
