Had a very hard time finding a great place in SLO that was dog friendly - all our other options were overpriced Airbnbs or your standard hotel with crazy dog fees. This was the perfect cozy little getaway for my girlfriends and our pups. The rooms are spacious, beautiful, and cozy - perfect for us and our dogs. We loved the French influence and elegance of it all including the aperitivo hour (wine, beer, hors d’oeureves), complimentary and delicious farmers market breakfast, the outdoor courtyard with fire pits, and the cocktail garden. This was also an easy 10-15 minute walk to downtown SLO and a 5 minute walk to SLO High School where we took our dogs often to run around off leash and go potty. Seriously, such a cozy and beautiful stay with the most amazing and friendly people who work there. Perfect for solo travelers, couples, families, and friends. HIGHLY recommend!

We had a lovely one night stay in a double room. The staff were fantastic and very accommodating. We really enjoyed it the free aperitif and delicious croissants. Unfortunately there is large scale construction happening on two sides of the hotel which we were not made aware of until arrival. It woke us up and was the last thing we heard when going to bed. I understand they cannot control it but being given some kind of warning before spending hundreds of dollars a night on a room with the sound of jackhammers out on two sides would have been good to know. Fair warning to anyone looking to stay here, looks like construction has just started.

We stayed here for one night, and had the most wonderful experience. The entire staff were all so helpful and kind. The room was very spacious and cozy. The bed was very comfortable.

It was about a 15 minute walk to the main downtown area. We knew that going in though, and enjoyed walking to/from dinner. The complimentary breakfast was lovely. The chocolate croissant was so flaky and delicious! The orange juice was excellent. Between the two of us we got the quiche and granola with fruit. They were both tasty.

My only regret was that we just stayed one night. I am already looking forward to making it back there again one day!

This is the most charming gem of a hotel. The parking is easy. The rooms are reminiscent of a pretty boutique in Paris. Lovely grounds with complimentary wine and charcuterie. Excellent breakfast with room. The staff was exceptional. The place is spotless in a great walking location to downtown shopping & restaurants.

This is the loveliest boutique hotel in a wonderful little College town. The room was beautiful, the breakfast was absolutely delicious. But most of all, the staff was the best I’ve ever encountered. They made sure that my stay was wonderful and Attended to my every need. It’s in a perfect spot, close to downtown. I will definitely be back!

Petit Soleil is a fantastic place to stay in San Luis Obispo. The service is excellent—warm, friendly, and attentive without feeling overdone. We really enjoyed the included breakfasts and happy hour, both of which were well-prepared and fun to have in the cozy dining and lobby area.||The attention to detail in our room was impressive. From the soft towels and quality bath products to the well-stocked mini bar and smart room layout, everything was thoughtfully done.||We’re already looking forward to staying at Petit Soleil again—it’s a true gem!

Great hotel in central location! The staff are excellent and take take of anything you need. The happy hour is great and breakfast is fantastic with some of the best scones. Very nice rooms with comfortable bed and nice products in the shower. Would highly recommend this hotel!

A truly exceptional and friendly place to spend a few days in slo-chilled san luis obispo. Top of the review must be the staff, who were warm, friendly and helpful and the sort of people who made you feel welcomed and special. Initial perception of breakfast was slightly underwhelming after the common all you can eat offerings of most hotels… BUT here everything is top class, standouts include the best (homemade) croissants we have ever tasted, a changing daily choice of specials to order including granola, pancakes, french toast and frittata with different mini pastries, hardboiled eggs, orange juice and fruit. And a great bonus gesture, free hors d’oeuvres and a glass of wine or beer served every night between 5 and 6 in an innovative (very) happy hour to set up an exploration of slo’s many restaurants. Our los angeles based friends drove six hours to meet us - and they have vowed to return soon - without us. A rare find.
