8 Star!!! A building commissioned and funded by women in the 1890's. Part of the suffragette movement, contributing to the education of women, is part renovated and still providing services locally. It's a registered foundation, run by active volunteers, something Preoria should be proud of.

The space is both large and affordable. It really is a nice location for events. The only downside about the place is the stove and oven do not work, which did not end up being a problem but just a heads up! The 1 star is due to the service and the event coordinator Paula!

When planning the event we had multiple phone calls leading up to the event and she could not remember my name and what type of event was taking place. I'm sure there are a lot of events, but at least write down the information or look over it before making the phone call. It felt like we were having the same conversation every time. I had to constantly remind her of what time we wanted the decorator to come and set up, snd she was still late on the day of the event. She even told me to call her in the morning to wake her up because there would be an event that ran late the night before.

When it was time for the event I showed up early and she had pointed out to me that there was a cabinet lock that had been broken, but she established that it was not me, as I was not there when it happened. Clean up is supposed to be included, but my family and I cleaned this space spotless at the end of then event. She had showed up as we were finishing up and was complaining to us about the event the day before and how the people were rude to her and continued to point out and pick at things we had missed while we were cleaning up. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL seeing as how we were doing her job for her. After we finished cleaning up and taking the trash out she explained to me that she would be keeping half of my deposit for the cabinet I did not break, even though she knew I did not break it. After coming into our event and rushing us out (technically we had the space for the whole day), complaining as we were cleaning, and keeping my deposit I am very upset.

Paula is not a professional, and she does not come off as a people person. She is very unorganized and appears to make no effort to remember anything about the events she schedules or the people in charge of them. I honestly do not recommend this space unless they get someone else to take care of the events who actually wants to do it. Paula was very rude to my family and managed to ruin everyone's mood within about 40 minutes. If you are renting this space plan on her hovering and complaining at some point DURING the event.

My mom and I are members there. You have to be a member to attend any of the functions there. Twice a month they have luncheons, which is always catered,by Baricks catering. Once a month they hold tea's, which a board member is to bring something to share to eat.The last luncheon there was a couple of actors from the Peorias players theater celebrating their 100th anniversary. I didn't know that the Peoria players theater had held their very first play on the top floor of the Peoria women's club, which there is a theater up there.

Held celebration of life here. The hall was large enough to accommodate and very clean. The kitchen was large and made it easy for food setup. I would recommend for a large group.

It's 3.45 the day of my 1st Anniversary and Paula is not here or answering her phone all my food is in the car, Paula has been. disrespectful she has compare me to everyone that has had a event that did not go as planned, without giving me the benefit that I would take care of the event, I would not recommend this place to anyone, she stereotype everyone black person for everything that has gone at her place. I'm so hurt, never thought this would happened to us.😳😭so sad.

It was beautiful inside. I loved the party I went to and enjoyed my time. The bathroom had marble floors and looked so beautiful !!!

The building was eracted in 1893,which makes it over 120 years old. The only way to get to be apart of the events there is to be a member, which is only $50.00 a year. What are the events that are held there are tea's and catered luncheons.The cater that is used for all of the luncheons is Barricks.
