Otter Beach Lodges - Homer, Alaska

Had to change dates and Randy was very accommodating. We ended up arriving later than planned but Arlene had called to check on our arrival time. She gave me all the details for entry, parking, etc and texted it to me. Everything went perfectly. We were on the lower floor and it was wonderful to be able to walk right out to the beach. The views were beautiful, as was everything in the room. Loved the touch of having popcorn. Beds were very comfortable.

The accommodations were perfect for our family. Unit 714 was nicely decorated and very comfortable. The beds were very nice with good quality linens. The 3 bedrooms with 3 1/2 bathrooms made it very easy to manage with a big family. The kitchen was fully stocked with good quality dishes and utensils. Their was a killer view of the mountains and the beach from almost every room. The back deck was great for relaxing. The fire ring out back was so nice for having a fire on the beach to roast marshmallows. It was a very short walk to the shops on the spit. I can’t say enough good things about this place. It exceeded my expectations and was a perfect stay.

We stayed here on 7/31/22. The place was amazing. The views are stunning. The place had everything we needed. The staff was helpful and friendly. We are going to stay here again. I don't understand the bad reviews below (unless maybe our unit was recently updated). Our unit was in great condition. I liked the bed so much that I'm buying one exactly like it!

we stayed at suite 715 which was on the 2nd floor. it was a two-story suite with three rooms and three baths. Two of those rooms have an ocean view and the other one has no view. The suite was clean, beautiful and well maintained. The view of the ocean was Espectacular. we had a nice Trace with some chairs too. it was a true luxury unit. The kitchen was well stocked and since we caught some fish in Homer, we really enjoyed our time cooking and dining at the home. Apparently, there is no manger at the site, but they answer the call right away. The manager was very nice and helpful. ||overall we had a great time in Homer and this unit was one of the reasons.

$844 a night to stay in Homer, Alaska is absurd. We stayed here the last few summers and it wasn’t nearly as costly, this year they hiked the prices and we decided we’d spend our money out of state.

If you’ve never been to Homer, you might like to visit, but after a day there isn’t a whole lot to do on the spit. And for the prices they are charging, you can fly out of state and stay in a 5 star hotel and save money.

Will not be staying here again, it was decent and the condo was fine, but at these prices, it’s just not a wow for me.

Nice lodges at the end of the spit. That makes it a great location, but some of the units are starting to show their age. The kitchen was nicely stocked with all the dishes pots and utensils we needed. The one we stayed in was very comfortable and nicely decorated, but the deck was getting weathered, and there were cracks visible on the ceilings and the walls. Still a step up over the other options in the area.

We rented one of these condos after a cruise. Nothing could have been more relaxing for a winding down period after our cruise. The kitchen was minimally stocked, but did have everything needed for our short stay. They were quick to answer our needs and very pleasant. Although not fancy, it was clean and comfortable. Wifi provided along with DirecTV. A driveway for parking your car was also a plus. The area is the main draw, located at the end of Homer Spit Road. So peaceful watching the fishing boats going in and out for a day of fishing, the otters swimming around and the view, oh yes, the view! You have a private back porch furnished with a couch, two chairs and a coffee table. Perfect for watching the world pass by with a glass of wine or cup of coffee. There is a Safeway nearby and a great restaurant within walking distance. I highly recommend Otter Beach Lodges for relaxing in Homer, Alaska.

Arlene was friendly & helpful. |Very responsive to insure our visit was all that we expected. |Lovely location, we were fortunate to see whales from the unit, which was very unexpected for this time of year. Stunning sunrises. Always nice to be at a nice locacation on Katchemak Bay.
