What can I say about Orca Island other than Amazing. From the moment that we arrived at the dock, we were met by friendly people, and everything was so well organized. Simon, our captain took us on a wonderful boat ride to the island pointing out wildlife as we went. Everybody was so helpful and made our stay perfect. You can’t beat the views. It’s so incredibly peaceful and relaxing. We had one day of sun and one of rain, but even in the rain, orca island is a beautiful place to be. Being completely unplugged allowed us to sit by the fire pit and meet many really cool people from all over the country. Orca Island Cabins was definitely the highlight of our Alaskan vacation.

We had an AWESOME time at Orca Island. We had beautiful weather, amazing views and saw fun sea life. ? ? , captain Simon was nice to look at as well (You're welcome ladies ?)

Hiked up to the WWII bunker, kayaked to the water fall, saw SOOOO many salmon, fished and just soaked in the breathtaking views. It was great to disconnect for a few days. We stayed in the Oyster catcher yurt. It's totally worth it!! 2 days is perfect amount of time to stay. It's amazing!!

Danika Baldwin #girlinalaska planned our whole trip . She was amazing and recommended we come here.. yes it IS expensive to stay here BUT she said it is truly an amazing place and worth it and she was spot on!! Add this to your bucket list people... If you make a trip to Alaska, cheap out elsewhere.. but DO NOT skip out on this spot..

Beautiful place to truly appreciate nature, unplugged. Very clean and comfy cabin (yurt). Well supplied glamping kitchen. The compost toilet was clean, with no smell at all. |We had a problem with the water heater (little or no hot water). The staff were very responsive right away and figured out the issue and fixed it. |Know that kayaking is the best way to see and experience all that Humpy Cove has to offer. However, we did not kayak and simply enjoyed our deck over the gorgeous water - wonderful!|We watched a humpback whale feeding on our boatride out to the cove. |

This place is dreamy. When you are there you feel like you are in another world with the emerald green water and colorful wildlife. It kind of reminded me of the ewok village on Star Wars only so much prettier. We had zero cell service out there which was fantastic. They provide all things you could possibly need or want to fill your days with adventure. There is an eagle preserve just around the corner outside the cove which is about a 30 to 45 minute kayaking trip. Take a fishing pole with you if you like to catch fish. In June/July there is no time ever that you will not catch a fish if you put a pole in the water especially at there. Also at the preserve is a very short hike to a beautiful waterfall. At low tide, the area under the arch bridge opens up and you can do some really good tide pooling. They have a fire pit on site too, so we sat and had some smores at night. It was so much fun. We stayed in the Oystercatcher Yurt which we found out was their first yurt and it has a wonderful view of the bay. I can't wait to visit again.
Some notes:
Parking is easy and free in town.
Bring your own cooler of food
The boat ride to the cove is gorgeous and cold so make sure you wear a jacket. You may even be lucky to see wildlife on the way in like we did.
A member of the crew is on site at all times to make sure all the guests are safe and have what they need.

We stayed in June 2023 for two nights with our daughter and son in law. Breathtaking! The yurt was well appointed and super comfy! The staff were helpful and friendly. And the cove was filled with wildlife accessible by the boats provided. (The 1 hour boat ride to and from Seward provided views of otters and a playful whale, too.) We had one day of sun and one day of light rain but both days were equally delightful. Bring your own food (and there’s plenty of options for cooking — bbq, stove, oven) and plan to be off the grid. Highly recommend!!!

The whole experience was wonderful. Picked up by owner in boat to bring us to Orca Island. Saw eagle and otters on ride over. A bit to cloudy to see the Glaciers. Upon arrival we were shown places to kayak and then docked boat and our personal items were brought to our yurts. Traveled with total of 6 people so we rented 2 yurts. Each yurt had everything we needed. We got right to a hike that lasted about 3 hours(i'd say easy/intermediate but with some challenges). A great start to our 2 night visit. We used the grills to make our dinner and then used the firepit to make some smores. Nothing like sunlight until midnight to get the most out of our visit. Next day we took our kayaks over to the waterfall. On the route we had a family of otters follow us. We saw an Eagle and fledgling overhead and settle into a tree nearby. So when we saw the bear of course we were happy but also happy to be in the kayak as he was in the woods. traveled a little further to see the salmon heading upstream right near the waterfall. what an adventure for us city people! tied our kayaks up and walked over to see the falls. Be careful about the tide and which side to leave the kayaks. (stay right). We had to cross the stream which added to our challenge. Cold water and lots of salmon to circumvent because of rookie move to go left of stream. Took a leisurely paddle back to the island. Settled back on the island and decided to take a walk around the property and pick berries. Turned them into a jam that we spread on bread for a snack. Went well with our charcuterie board and happy hour drinks. We took up to the social area and spent some time relaxing and watching out over the water to see what other wildlife we may see. The tides really effect Orca Island and allow you to wander and see sealife you might not normally notice. Just beautiful. While at the social area we ran into the father of current owners who had actually created the space with his wife, We got to learn how Orca came about and what the island is like in different months. A special treat indeed. Because there was much sunlight left a few of our group went out on a small row boat to try their hand at fishing. We all checked out the art gallery where they have with their mom's work and some other products that you can purchase. We really took advantage of most of what the place offers for use. It was just a wonderful experience and highly recommend giving this place a visit.

Our stay at Orca Island Cabins exceeded all expectations. It was one of the destinations on our trip that our children looked the most forward to. Taylor and Simon escorted us to and from the island, showing us otters, puffins and eagles along the way. Our family kayaked to the waterfall, hiked, fished, went rowing and paddle boarding. The starfish and sea urchins in the tide pools are beautiful. We saw a seal, otters and porpoises in the cove. The yurts are clean, comfortable and spacious. The entire property is a beautiful oasis. Our only regretting is not being able to stay for a second night. We ❤️ Orca Island!

What a great place to unplug and enjoy the nature of Alaska. Kayaking to a waterfall, hiking to a WWII bunker, dall sheep, sea lions, killer whales. Bring yourself a cooler of food and drinks and the rest is provided! They have the yurts set up with a propane stove, heater, pots, pans, utensils, and dishes. Compost toilet and shower.
