While in Phoenix for work, we came to Scottsdale for lunch and chose this place based on all the positive reviews. We got here around 11AM on a weekday and they were already packed, the hostess told us without a reservation we’d have about a 30 minute wait. We gladly waited at the bar and tried a few drinks… their Bloody Mary is really good!

We were promptly seated outside on their back patio, which is covered with lots of umbrellas over all the tables, and very comfy to be under during the sunny day. They menu looked pretty good, so we just ordered several appetizers to share.

Their lamb meatballs were flavored quite nicely and the tzatziki that comes with it was really tasty! Their table bread is a homemade focaccia with basil pesto and it’s really good! We tried a couple of their flatbreads and arancini too and everything was great! Plenty of food for 3 people. For dessert, I tried their pina colada sorbet and their salted lemon sorbet and both were excellent!

Service was very good by our server… the hostesses could use a touch-up in providing better service though.

Definitely would return!

Went here on an impromptu date night. We went at 6 pm during the week and it was a 2 HOUR wait for a table (definitely make a reservation) we sat at the bar. Their focaccia and pesto was amazing! We had the rock shrimp pasta and salmon ceasar which both left something to be desired (especially the salmon which we felt was bland). Finished with the crĆØme brĆ»lĆ©e which was yummy. I’d definitely come back!

This place never fails. The patio on the Scottsdale Waterfront is lovely in the Spring. Everything down to the bread and pesto dip is delectably delicious! The Mussels and Sweet Potato Cannelloni were enough for two of us. Get a reservation as this place is packed at 5:30pm in March and April. It took awhile to get a table for two, and a good 20 minutes to close out my bar tab but worth the wait! Enjoyed dinner so much we went back for Easter Brunch! The Bread Pudding French Toast was decadent and divine!

Jessie took great care of us from the moment we arrived until the end of our celebratory bachelorette party. The food was fresh, flavorful, and served in generous portions perfect for sharing. When Jessie found out what we were celebrating, he surprised us with the most delicious dessert—such a thoughtful touch!

I have been wanting to try this restaurant for a while and I finally was able to come. I was not disappointed. The services and the food was outstanding This place is perfect l for a date night or for some drinks with friends. Even though it was a Friday night our food didn’t take long to arrived. The server was nice, friendly & attentive. We had dinner outside and the weather was perfect.

Olive & Ivy in Scottsdale is a challenge to review—not because there’s anything wrong with it, but because it sits in a city packed with truly exceptional restaurants. If this were in a smaller town, it’d be an easy five-star review, no hesitation. But in a place like Scottsdale, where the bar is set sky-high, Olive & Ivy lands in that upper-middle tier—very good, but not quite unforgettable.

The atmosphere is lively, with a steady crowd that speaks to its reputation. Sitting at the bar, the service was top-notch despite how packed it was. The bartenders handled the rush effortlessly, keeping drinks flowing and making guests feel welcome.

As for the food, it was a mixed bag, though mostly positive. The hummus platter was solid—creamy, fresh, and well-executed—but nothing that stood out as remarkable. The Brussels sprout and butternut squash flatbread, however, was a different story. The combination of textures and flavors hit just right, making it easily the best thing we had. The lasagna had promise, but the sauce was too bright and acidic, lacking that deep, rich, savory balance that makes a truly great pasta dish.

Would I go back? Sure. But with so many other standout options in Scottsdale, it’s not a place I’d rush to revisit. Good food, great service, and an amazing bathroom, just not quite a must-experience destination.

My wife likes to try new places. She found this place when I said I was wanting a club sandwich.

My wife enjoyed her food. It looked pretty good. My sandwich was ok, not great and not bad just ok. Not worth $17 though.

My issues were not with the food, but with the service and appearance. The waitress brought out two water containers. One with room temp water and one barely cold. The table next to us had ice in theirs. The container itself had crusted on hard water stains all over it and I refused to drink the water when I saw that.

My second issue was I ordered a Diet Coke and received a glass with maybe three sips worth of Diet Coke in it, mostly ice. The cup was a miniature glass. I was never offered a refill even after they saw me eating my ice. We definitely won’t come back to this place.
