This venue was gorgeous — we loved every part of it, and so did our guests! We loved having our ceremony outdoors surrounded by trees with a pond in the background, it was so dreamy! We wanted to be surrounded by nature during our dinner, and it was our dream come true! We also loved having the safety net of the tarp sides of the pavilion that could be rolled down with bad weather. Before the wedding day, the venue owners Jill and Pat were very friendly and were helpful with all the questions we had.

The process of booking this venue and signing the contract was a little stressful. Venues book up quickly nowadays, especially if you’re only booking a year or less out! So once we fell in love with it, we wanted to book it ASAP so no one would snatch up our date. They were having some technical issues setting up the contract (and we totally understand that could’ve been out of their control), so they put off having us sign it for days. This was really anxiety inducing because we wanted it signed ASAP so we wouldn’t lose our spot for the one venue we really wanted. They reassured us they had us “penciled” in, but when our wedding date/venue/thousands of dollars are on the line, we wanted something more professional and sure-fire.

Once we did receive the digital contract, we noticed multiple errors on it, some of which were huge ones. They had listed our package twice (resulting in almost twice the total price) and our wedding date was nowhere to be found on the contract. It was a little alarming that such big details could've been overlooked on a contract for our biggest wedding-related purchase. We went through a round or two of revisions for the contract before we finally signed it.

There were a few things we think could be improved! Being a first time bride (which most brides are), I had no idea how weddings are planned. I had a million little questions for the venue, so It would’ve been very helpful if a lot of those details could’ve been included in one big PDF clearly listing out all the details of the venue.

They sent me a map of the venue (which answered multiple questions of mine) but it was multiple months after booking, and I had needed to know info that was in it months earlier (numbers and sizes of tables, etc), so it would’ve been much more helpful to have gotten that map sent to us right when we booked.

During the wedding, apparently some guests were noticing about a foul smell coming from the edge of the venue, near the bathrooms and family room/shack. My maid of honor and day-of coordinator first thought it was the bathrooms but then realized it was actually a full deer head (with the skin still on) being left out to dry which was a little crazy to have onsite at a venue during a wedding, in a spot people are able to smell it.

One of our biggest concerns coming to the day of our wedding was if we would have enough time to take down all of our decorations before the end of the night. We only purchased the day-of package and not the whole weekend. We were assured by the venue owners that no one has ever had any trouble packing up before the deadline. They also told us that they had some staff on site that would be helping with some of the take down. Well, as myself and my spouse were about to take off to our hotel, we realized that there was still quite a bit of decorations to be picked up with only about an hour left before the deadline. During this, the venue owners seemed on edge, were short with us, and for quite some time Pat was seated by where we were cleaning up and our family noticed he was staring at us silently, not helping, and looking pretty angry. Admittedly, looking back we should have set more time aside for cleanup. However, it would have been nice to have some info from the venue owners beforehand (about how long it usually takes to tear down or more help cleaning up from them so that we didn’t leave the venue feeling stressed.

Quaint venue with a country charm. Nice views of nature and old farm buildings. Next to Raccoon Creek and across the creek from Beckman Mill park. I attended a friend's wedding in the Fall, middle of October 2022. It just happened to be a colder day with a little wind. I would have liked there to be more heaters available or a little better preparation to keep the cold out of the dining area. Nice open bar and hot beverage options. A good 'photo booth' with fun props. Good desserts and taco food truck, however not sure if that was the venue or just planned and set up by the bride & groom. Nice, clean bathroom trailer with 3 stalls for women and 1 stall, 1 urinal for men, which kept the standing outside in line to a minimum when nature called.

Absolutely beautiful, expensive, but, beautiful. Not a fan of the female owner, but her husband was great. Very Strict rules and time guidelines. She walked around like she was just trying to catch someone violating the rules. Felt kind of uncomfortable and awkward. We had the place til 10:30, which is early for a reception, and for the 1000s it cost........ but the lights started going out just after 10. I'd recommend this place if it wasn't for her.
