I'm going to have to bring back the old slogan from Wendy's but instead it's going to be "Where's the fish"!! Seriously, though where does it begin? As a foodie, I'm harsh but I just want to be treated with respect because I am spending my hard earned money at your establishment. And if you're looking for a one time customer instead of a repeat customer then this is probably the wrong business for you. I want you to do well but when you treat customers like I don't know what good sushi is there's going to be problems. I'm asked by the waitress here what was the best thing here, it was the salmon roll which was a California roll with a small piece of salmon on top. Granted the roll itself was tiny. I will not in good conscience recommend or comeback until improvements are done and eyes are opened. Please do your research.

The place to go if you’ve never had Japanese food before and don’t know any better.

The taste of the food is good. The side salad was actually one of the better little side salads I’ve had, and the Gyoza was damn good.

The problem was that the portions are just too small for what you pay. Gyoza was $12 for four pieces, and the Rainbow Roll was $20. $20! And it was small, with hardly any fish on it.

You would get twice the food at somewhere like Edo Ya (one of my favorites), and their most expensive rolls are more like $17… this was a $10-$12 roll, at best.

Service was slow, but friendly. Feels like they are just getting their bearings here, which is fine… but they are charging way too much and I won’t be coming back, sorry.

Brand new sushi place in Old Town Clovis. It's been a long time coming. Simple menu, with a little bit of everything. The Gyoza are hand made daily and they were great. We had the Tempura roll and Negi Hamachi. Both very good. They offer multiple house made sauces that are delicious. The Honey Sriracha was my favorite. Looking forward to trying more dishes next visit. Prices were decent. My daughter and I each had a roll and shared an appetizer and it was around 40.00. These days that's not too crazy for a meal out.

Edit: This place started off great in my opinion. I still enjoy it but I feel the absence of the owner is weighing on the employees and its starting to take a toll. I believe moral is suffering. I really enjoy the staff and the food.

We were excited to try an new sushi place, but were unfortunately disappointed in the experience. We came on a Sunday night around 5:30. There were only 3 other parties, however it took almost 2 hours from when we were seated until we left and we were ready to order when we arrived. They seemed understaffed in a way. The food was OK. The sushi was expensive for what you got compared to other sushi in town and didn't have a huge variety of rolls with fresh fish or different sauces. The sushi we did order seemed fresh and the rice was correct for sushi. 2 in the party ordered steak hibachi, and the medium rare was very well done. Even with the slow service, the waitress was very nice and friendly. Also it seems that the new restaurant just changed the business name on Google instead of making a new one so the info and reviews are mostly about the previous cafe. The last issue was they added a credit card processing fee. This wasn't disclosed anywhere I could find (on the menu etc) and not typical for a sit down full service type restaurant. Again, not a bad experience, but there are better sushi and Japanese options in town.

Food was really flavorful and the service was delightful. Although the menu had fewer offerings than we typically see at a sushi place, there were plenty of options. We started with edamame, which is surprisingly flavorful and not overcooked. I recommend this as a starter! We picked two rolls, shrimp tempura and salmon roll. Portion size was good and presentation was nice. Fish was really fresh and the flavors complimented without overwhelming. Then we had the hibachi shrimp with bacon fried rice and veggies. Everything was cooked perfectly, and had their own flavors, none overwhelmed the other, but complementing each other well. I recommend everything we tried! It may feel a little unconventional to head to old town for sushi, but it's definitely worth checking out! We will be back!

I ordered the Tri Tip Salad and it was honestly the best salad I've ever had. The Tri Tip was cooked perfectly and all the other toppings were cut to get size. One of my friends ordered the Garlic Aioli Chicken Sandwich and we did not expect it to be so big! It was very delicious along with the fries, which tasted pretty good! Overall I would most definitely be back again to try other items.

I have lived in Clovis for a year now. This is the first time I have come to Old Town Cafe. I will definitely be coming back. The service, the food everything was great. The pancakes were a little hard on the side but they were still great. Can't wait to go back.

We stopped by during the Walktober event. I was a bit hesitant because the reviews weren’t too favorable. Our party was pleasantly surprised. Service was great. Our waitress checked in with us and was well versed on the menu. The aioli sauce that came with Karaage was delicious! It complimented the chicken well. Our rolls were excellent. I guess the only gripe is that they do not have a vast selection of rolls. We also had the beef bowl, which the cuts were huge and there was more than enough rice. This Japanese restaurant is a great addition to Old Town. Definitely give it a try. Great for lunch or dinner. Family friendly. Very humble looking establishment.
