Massage was okay, very standard and nothing special. When my partner and I left to pay and give a tip they were appalled that we offered 20%. They pulled out a chart and asked demanded 50% tip if we thought the massage was "good" and insinuated if the massage was great we had to pay over a 70% tip. My partner and I were literally cornered and were expected to pay double the amount we booked for. Even though we did not agree this and the massage was NOT worth extra 50% tip on top of the 20% tip, we felt forced to supply one to let us leave. It was so incredibly uncomfortable, and I would not recommend the spot to anybody.

The first time I was there. I booked a 6 o'clock and when I got there the doors closed so I headed home and they called me at 615 wondering where I was, home! The appointment was at 6 not 6:15 the second time I got there at 6 and they said. Oh, we double booked u have to wait till 630 for someone to finish, like no! And the third time I paid for an hour massage and they only gave me 45 minutes and she still wanted to argue with me about it. Disappointed about this place

We did a couples massage, were very satisfied, good value for the price. $65 per person. However, we were left in utter disbelief and appalled, when we gave each therapist $15 each in gratuity, and she started showing us a “Tip Price Chart”, saying $15 is minimum, and really just started haggling us.
My response was “you don’t want this $30?”

All of a sudden, she forgot English, and started acting like she didn’t understand what was going on, but just 1 minute ago, we were being put under duress, and guilt for underpaying tips.

To Ocean’s Spa management: if you want to operate a service based business in America, learn customer service skills, and look at the long term, repeat business and plenty more opportunities to earn my business. However, you’ve lost it for good, because your personnel decided they needed more cash today.

The massage was great but holy molly as my husband and I walked out holding a $20 and was ready to tip. The woman up front looked at us in disbelief. And pointed to a sign saying we needed to tip more. Good tip 15-20, excellent 25-30 and so on so on. That gave us a very sour taste in our mouth. We would of kept coming back but after that no thank you very unfortunate they lost us as customers.

HORRIBLE Customer service!! As soon as I walk in, the guy at the front desk doesn't even say hi and is just staring at me. Takes him a minute to even say anything to me. I made a reservation for me and my boyfriend to get a massage, but an emergency came up so I brought my boyfriend in so he can at least get a massage. I tell the guy at the front desk, and he says,
"I had to refuse a customer earlier because you said TWO people were getting a massage ".
I told him I don't care. Can I pay for my boyfriend's massage now?
He then CONTINUES to just complain and continually tell us how he had to refuse a customer and we said that two people are getting a massage. I tell him again that I just want to pay for one massage and I need to leave. He doesn't care and continues to complain to us. So rude!! Never coming back.
Absolutely horrible customer service.
Me and my boyfriend just left.

Very clean, very good massage. I was willing to tip more than I normally would for a massage since the prices here are so reasonable. Thanks for a great experience!

I’ve been coming here for the past 5 years now. It’s very inexpensive for a good quality massage. It’s clean, it’s cozy and relaxing environment. It’s really good for it’s price. I love Hadley’s Massage. P.S request for Cece if you want a relaxing, massage. Her strokes are long, deep and flowing. I love the continuous movements.
I live in SF now, and I keep coming back here.

I've been to this establishment 2 times before. The 1st time, I got a mediocre massage, but not so terrible I couldn't give them the benefit of the doubt and try a different therapist. My 2nd time, I had a much better experience. This encouraged me to come back a 3rd time.

As usual, I requested a deep tissue massage. The therapist I got this time clearly was not trained in deep tissue, which means the owner or management mistakenly thinks strong pressure equals deep tissue. As a professional massage therapist of 24 years, trained in Deep Tissue work I can tell you it is not.

So either they're hoping clients don't know better or they're not making sure their therapists can competently provide deep tissue work. Either way, they're not selling as advertised.

But worse than that, my therapist didn't feel motivated to do a good job. She slogged through an obviously cookie cutter routine, not paying attention to my body. And unlike her previous 2 colleagues, she didn't even try to communicate or solicit feedback to try to give a quality massage.

Finally, when leaving, she was waiting by the front desk when the receptionist asked if I wanted to give her a tip. As massage therapist who has worked at several establishments over the years, I immediately cringed at how awkward and inappropriate it was to make this request with the therapist present.

I explained to them as much, adding that I've been a professional massage therapist over 24 years, then told the receptionist that what I received was not a deep tissue massage. She wouldn't even give me the courtesy and respect as a returned client of looking me in the eyes as she looked down and muttered "OK" dismissively. No apologies. Not even a false display of humble contrition, much less an effort to make it right with an offer to give me a complimentary visit in the future with a promise to provide a qualified deep tissue massage therapist.

I don't think she was the owner, as I had a more mature receptionist before who carried an air of skilled management. So I hope the owner of this establishment really takes this review to heart -esoecially as a trained professional and 24+ year veteran in this field and makes a meaningful effort to make amends.
