Awesome, setting and beautiful area. The rooms are good enough , some old charm and some updated parts of our room , somewhat dated in other areas but for the price is excellent. You have to understand the price and area completely justify any updates that need to be done they are updating from what I understand. our bathroom was redone and nice. Shriva at the desk was awesome with great info about the area and walking Trails . They have coffee and breakfast bites in the morning, can't ask for much more. Great experience! Northern Queen Inn exists and has so since the 70's. They are working on renovation, improvements, pool and spa. Staff is great. A lot of people don't know that there are Cabins & Chalets, QQNS, Kings, Queens. Waterfall, meadow _WALK to the the Narrow Guage Railroad Museum. Private restrooms. .09 mile walking distance from downtown Nevada City. Kitchenettes, which are Cabins and Chalets, have a weekly rate of $732.83.

The facilities are a bit dated, it's not perfect. But it was comfortable, it was clean. It was inexpensive, We had a small cabin. It was great. Pretty surroundings. I liked this place. Small kitchen. Even a BBQ. Again, this place is great. No issues for us.

Staff was very nice and accommodating. Room is nice for a cheap overnight rate. Yeah couple stains on the wall/carpet but nothing crazy. Bedding and bathroom were very clean. Surrounding area is very beautiful, nice to take a walk.

Room was chilly & outdated, but clean and value priced! My dad stayed in another room and couldn’t get the hot water running nor the tv working, but it all worked out in the end, and couldn’t have found a better deal and so close to town. Very kind staff. Cute place with what seemed like a fun railway that runs from spring thru October so just missed it.

This establishment is currently undergoing renovation. They gave us a room in a building the was mostly boarded up and looked extremely derelict. The bathroom and bed were clean BUT the entire room was very grungy, the carpet filthy, and I was quite disgusted by it. IF you plan to stay here call ahead and INSIST that you get a room that has been completely updated in a building that doesn't look like it needs to be condemned. If it wasn't late on a Saturday night we would have demanded our money back and sought other lodgings.

I did discuss the state of this room when checking out the next morning and the staff was apologetic. I got the impression that they're told "you will keep this room in service" and they're stuck doing so. But I told them that that information would be in my review.

I hope they can do better in the future as the location is nice and the grounds very pretty. There is a restaurant on site and a train ride that looked fun.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. I stayed for three days for work. It was a great value. I stayed in a standard room, and it was clean and quiet. I also looked at the cabins, and they are beautiful. That’s where I will stay next time. The staff was professional and sweet. I couldn’t imagine a better vibe for the value. I highly recommend.

The staff was friendly & accomadating. The office was charming. The location was great.

But the rooms were a let down for the price. We paid less for nicer rooms throught California. The rooms are in need of a complete overhaul.

We paid near 100$ a night & a 100$ deposit. Wich doesn't make sense because there's nothing of value in the rooms.

The weirdest part is that the rooms do not come with comforters. Just a flat sheet on top. Basically 2 flat sheets & a tiny thin blanket in between. I've never experienced this in any other hotel.

The front desk was helpful enough to provide us with a second blanket.

The place was clean. But the artwork was faded 1980s prints that should of been thrown out a long time ago. No artwork would be less disturbing.
Nothing matched in our room.

The location was pleasant. With renovations, hopefully this place will improve.
