We loved this place. We stayed twice and had a great time. The location is perfect, cute little townhouses. We loved going for a walk in the evening by the golf field. Rooms are cute too, just be ready to see not upgraded rooms. Kitchen appliances are new but not the furniture but we didn't really care since we weren't stayed all day inside. There is a lake about 10 minutes away which was fantastic and we got food on the way there, best burgers out there. They also have pool and jacuzzi inside their office. We enjoyed staying there.

Ok, I called the "resort" three times to make and also confirm the reservation I made months in advance. The first time I requested an email that they "forgot" to send. The second time I called to say I never received my email confirmation they said "It must have gone to my spam". The third time I called directly to confirm my reservation they had no record of it and actually blamed me for their mistake! These people must live in a very high part of the mountains if you know what I mean. Incompetent would be an understatement!

Hidden gem in the forest, very close to the Calaveras Big Trees state park. Very clean, very well kept 80’s charm cabins. Quite spacious two story cabins, placed between trees and alongside the creek. We were lucky to be here during low season so it was quiet and serene. The club house has pool, hot tub, large kitchen/dinning area, pool - perfect for larger groups. I highly recommend and hope to come back for longer time.

These have not been renovated in eons, but they have a bit of an 80s charm. There is lots of space for activities and a good night's rest. The pool, hot tub, and sauna are maintained and a nice way to relax.

My sister and I really enjoyed our cabin/room. The people at the front desk were nice, friendly and accommodating to our last minute changes. Our place was very well maintained. They even had turned on the air conditioning for us before we arrived which was awesome. The location is amazing, the trees were stunning. We would gladly stay there again!

Place of quiet, comfort.
Being able to sit in a comfort forest setting, with technology pushed away is a comforting moment.

The staff are everyday hardworking staff that offer a good word with a smile.

To be able to have a place as such is a good affair.
Visit, enjoy and give a bit to the workers who deserve it well.

Kids really enjoyed staying at Mountain Retreat. The 2BR/2BA was cozy and spacious with unlimited shampoo, conditioner, and soap provided. The front desk and maintenance staff were so friendly and helpful. Loved the warm swimming pool & jacuzzi, shooting pool and especially the foosball! We also did sledding, snow play, and hiked to see sequoia trees at the Calaveras Big Trees State Park. We visited Columbia State Historic Park which is an old gold mining town, so much fun! We even managed to squeeze in snow boarding 2Xs during the week. All rated the trip a 9/10! We plan to come back!!
