My Husband and I hosted our families ugly Christmas Sweater party on December 23rd.
The place was absolutely beautiful and decorated very nicely for Chritmas.
Dave and Roda were very nice and helpful.
Everyone who attended the party had a great time and had nothing but good things to stay about the atmosphere and venue.

As a venue this is probably the best place in Vacaville. Request a tour, it's just gorgeous!

I also experienced the discontent with the owner....on several conversations. (People with no money, history of artwork, boosting, smell and leaks). We also did a tour, however it was like he wanted to get rid of us and treated my friend and I like we knew nothing. After our tour...we attempted several times and ways to contact him. With no avail, he never responded to us via email or phone. He is a waste of time. It's sad bc the location is beautiful for a smaller wedding...enriched with a lot of cultural architecture. 😔

Overall Mission on the Hill is beautiful but the owner of the location Dave Roth is a self absorbed, chauvinistic, RACIST. He only cares about the money and shutting women down because he does not believe that they have a voice. He continuously stated how he had to deal with people that were financially less fortunate. He is so full of himself and he constantly boasts himself and the fact that he knows this person and that person and what the heck does that have to do with our wedding. His location smelled like dog urine due to the dog that he had running around his location terrorizing everyone who walked through the door. I have to say that is was the worst experience of our lives and our wedding is supposed to be the best day. He over promised and under delivered but if you check yelp which is what I should have done I would have looked elsewhere. Please do yourself a favor and keep looking. It is not worth the headache and the hassle. Unless your made of money and can can pay other people to deal with him!

I was quoted one price but never received the contract via email as requested and was charged more than we verbally agreed to. Also, he said he had 6 large and 4-5 small chaffers but he only had 3 lg and 3 sm. Said he had a caterers kitchen - he does not. Said there were three large refridgerators - not true. I was charged for coffee service; I brought my own percolator (thank God!), coffee, cream, sugar for 125 people he only had a 10-cup drip coffee maker and maybe 25 cups. I was told he would have to bring in two bartenders at $300 for my 4 hours event to serve my two premixed drinks in my dispensers. The bartender was his wife and a hired worker - NEITHER knew what a virgin bloody mary was!!!! I agreed to pay a cleaning fee of $150 and was charged even though i washed all the dishes and cleaned our mess... I am pretty confident this is his regular practice. He was not well received by any of our guests.
BE WEARY! Also, he wanted CASH/CHECK only - no credit cards.
