Miss Murphy (Caroline) is every bit as delightful as her charming bed and breakfast. She greeted us warmly and provided a brief, helpful tour of the property, pointing out the complimentary popcorn, coffee, tea, and water bottles. Our room was thoughtfully appointed with its own private restroom stocked with all the toiletries one might need. The canopy bed felt luxurious, and my mother and I adored the hand-painted lilacs and elegant decor.

In the morning, we quietly descended the grand staircase, drawn by the enticing aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the promise of a delicious meal. Breakfast did not disappoint—sausage links, pancakes, orange juice, fresh berries, and coffee were served, all perfectly prepared. I even saved a few berries to share with the resident ducks, Marigold, Pumpkin, and Clementine, who eagerly devoured their treat.

While feeding the ducks, I took a moment to soak in the serene backyard views overlooking the downtown area and river. It was a perfect end to a wonderful stay, and I can’t wait to visit again!

Had the most beautiful stay at Miss Murphy’s this weekend. Caroline greets you at the door with the warmest smile. Attention to detail is not lacking whatsoever in this wonderful bed and breakfast. The decor is so tastefully curated and everything about this special spot makes you feel right at home. I would not hesitate to stay here, and will continually share what a pleasant experience I had with friends and family!

My best friend and I took a girls weekend to Galena and stayed at Miss Murphy’s. This is exactly what we were looking for. Miss Murphy (Caroline) was so incredibly nice and welcoming when we first arrived. We stayed in the cottage which has 2 beds (it’s sort of a split room) which was lovely! It was so cold but she gave us a heater and extra blanket to warm the separate room up and it did the trick. The cottage was adorable. The property was so cute and we got to meet the ducks and see the deer, right outside our cottage! The breakfast nook was so cute; coffee, yogurt, oj and fruit to start, then a dish came out; we had a breakfast casserole type meal on Sunday and homemade pancakes and sausage on Monday. We were so pleased to stay there. We loved every second!

Miss Murphy’s B&B was everything and more. Everything was well thought out and had a personal touch. It was an easy walk to Main Street and Caroline was the best hostess. We wont stay anywhere else in Galena on future visits and look forward to coming back!

Also— she went above and beyond for breakfast! Such a pleasant surprise.

We had a fantastic time at Miss Murphy's. The home is very welcoming. We were glad that Miss Murphy lives on the property and is there to handle any problems, as well as to lock up the house at night. She is very friendly, and the breakfasts she made were delicious. Miss Murphy was very accommodating about our dietary needs. The home is located in a great area, less than 5 minutes from Galena's Main Street. As with most bed and breakfasts, there is no elevator and guests need to use the stairs.

We had such a wonderful weekend here! We stayed in the Cottage suite, which had everything you'd need and more. It was very clean and beautifully styled & furnished. Loved the fireplace for November nights too. That suite is only accessible from a separate entrance, but we didn't mind the short walk around the building to breakfast because of how beautifully kept the grounds are (and you get to see the ducks in their little garden pen each time you pass 🥺🥰 You can also feed them little treats too!)

Breakfast was a perfect portion with some combination of fresh fruit, yogurt, coffee or juice, and a main dish. Imagine sitting at a romantic little two-top table, looking out through a lace curtain to a beautiful view down the hill to the river, coffee in a china cup, carafe of orange juice, and soft music playing over in the parlor while the morning sun shines in from the porch. I was in heaven.

The owner is so sweet and friendly, but never too chatty or in your way. She's very easy to reach if you need her too. You can tell she takes a lot of care to keep the place up and puts a lot of thought into your experience there.

Miss Murphy's is in a great location, with just a few min walk from downtown. It's downhill with very little traffic there and uphill back to the bnb. I was 7 months pregnant and had to take it slow, but it still wasn't too much. At night the gazebo is lit on the corner to guide you home.

We stayed in the little cottage next to the main building. Our host was lovely and our stay was enjoyable. The buildings have an antique and rustic feel, which is exactly what we were looking for while touring Galena. There are three little ducks in the courtyard which are really cute. Thank you for making our weekend special!

This was a great Bed and Breakfast to stay in for our weekend trip to Galena! Even though we checked in late, the host made sure we got in ok. Our room was cozy, with a Jacuzzi in the same room and a toilet + shower in a small room off to the side. Everything was clean and we had information on the town, where to eat, and what we could go and do. Breakfast in the morning was lovely to grab a bite and set off for the day. I would stay here again!
