If you want to get away, this is where to go. No TV, no WiFi, no cell reception; bring lots of books to read. Make sure you have enough gas in the car and lots of groceries.

If you time it right, like going in winter, you might get to enjoy that rarity in crowded California: having the woods pretty much to yourselves.

The cabin is small, even for two people. However, that means it heats readily enough. Everything was in good repair and operated as expected. The water tastes fantastic. The bathroom's a little tight to negotiate, but the shower warms pretty fast. Because of the trees and ridges, sunrise is delayed and twilight is a little earlier. Use the extended dark to catch up on sleep.

Never saw or even heard the hosts. I guess there were people working to make this happen, or maybe trained forest creatures keeping things in order.

Mill Creek Resort is one of my favorite places. It is all so thoughtfully done. From the unique, cozy cabins to the fabulous deck- it is the perfect spot to spend time with friends or loved ones connecting back into nature and each other. I have hosted women’s wellness retreats here for the last several years with great success. I have already booked several dates for next summer! The surrounding area is great to explore and the creek is a the best spot to spend the afternoon!

In the winter, it feels like a snow-covered wonderland, perfect for curling up by the fire or snowshoeing around and exploring the beautiful, peaceful surroundings. In summer, the lush greenery and fresh air are unbeatable for hiking, outdoor activities, or simply enjoying the incredible views and cooling off in the beautiful creek. The nature around the property is breathtaking, offering a perfect balance of tranquility and adventure.

I also have to mention how welcoming and friendly the staff were—they made us feel right at home. This is the kind of place that checks every box: cleanliness, comfort, stunning scenery, and a true sense of escape. Whether you’re looking to relax or explore, this spot offers the best of both worlds. Highly recommend!

Mill Creek Resort is one of my FAVORITE places to get away from it all! It's peaceful, surrounded by gorgeous natural beauty and super easy to get to. It's also close to Lassen National Park and just all around a very magical place. We've made many a happy memory here and would highly recommend it!

Immerse yourself in nature and enjoy the comforts of quaint cabins. Mill Creek has been a family favorite for decades. The proximity to Mt.Lassen summit makes it a great home base when you want to enjoy the beautiful snow in the winter time. Play all day in the snow and come home to your toasty warm cabin. It’s a great place to bring the whole group as there are several cabins that can accommodate you and your extended family! All this for very resolvable rates.

Mill Creek Resort has been a destination of ours for a number of years when we want to get away from the valley and reset in the mountains. This resort is nothing short of magical and our favorite thing to do is sip our morning coffee on the meadow deck while enjoying the peaceful forest backdrop that surrounds us. Ask your hosts for directions to the multiple spots along the creek that are perfect for cold dips and can be easy to access for those with small children or more challenging for avid explorers alike.

We LOVE Mill Creek Resort! We've visited during each season and every one has its special charm. The most recent trip was during Winter where we enjoyed cozying up in one of the beautiful cabins for a quiet little getaway in the mountains. The cabins are thoughtfully designed and feel very homey. We walked the grounds and found our way back down to the creek to admire the rushing waters that this time of year brings. We were reminded of the fun times we had down there last Summer when we jumped in and enjoyed a beer after a trial run. We're already looking forward to coming back this Spring and bringing our tent to experience the campground area. The owners and staff of MCR are so kind and accommodating. We have only good things to say about this place!! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a spot to stay while exploring the Lassen area.

Mill Creek has grown into my heart in ways that it will truly never leave me. I have found so much healing and love on this land; every step I take while I am here feels like walking home. The folks that own and work here have become so very special in my life, and the way they are lovingly tending this special place is a true gift. I am so grateful for the continued outpouring of love and energy that keeps an amazing niche like Mill Creek functional and flowing! And like always, I can't wait to come back!
