4 miles off highway. Very small rooms. No coffee maker. No closet. No iron, but you can get one. Breakfast was pathetic. O ly bagels No cream cheese. Two types of packaged cereal, packaged oatmeal. 6 apples, yogurt cups and packaged pastries

We were sent to a dirty room that had not been cleaned. We were sent to a 2nd room for US to see if it was clean as she didn't know which rooms were clean. Not a good feeling so we decided not to stay. Over 2 weeks later we have not received our refund yet.

I was concerned after reading a few reviews here, but was too late to cancel.|Yes the room carpet is stained but the room was clean, compact. The bathroom was pristine.|Hot beverage coffee/tea plus toaster for bagels, waffles, or bread slices plus cream cheese, peanut butter, jam & yogurt...makes o.k. breakfast. |Wouldn't have minded some hardboiled eggs with their cold cereal choices.|So for my stay, the negative was the dirty room carpet.|No fitness room but easy, safe neighborhood to stroll around, which I did, as a solo woman traveling. |Availability at front desk was no problem, and the staff was pleasant, welcoming. Signs at front re: calling if noone's around, which I did & someone promptly appeared.|Would stay again as a solo, but not as a pair or more. Room is too small, but, there you have it.

Without many choices we stayed here. Hotel was clean, staff was polite but not helpful in addressing our problem. BARKING DOGS. Apparently our neighbors left their dogs alone in their room for a few hours, approximately 7-10p? Calls and a visit to the desk led no where. They couldn’t get a hold of the owners. They did offer a different room, which we took. So packed up our stuff and moved. |Again room was clean. |Bed, pillows, in my opinion, uncomfortable. Bed was noisy, pillows hard. |Unfortunately, not many choices in Ste Genevieve

The rooms were clean, comfortable, and quiet. I got up early and enjoyed a nice breakfast while my husband got ready. He came down to the breakfast room with our luggage, but he didn't realize that I had taken one of my rings off and set it on the nightstand. I didn't think about until 2 days later. We called the hotel, and Sabrina (bless her heart) sent a maid up to check the room, and it was still there! She mailed out out right away and I received it in the mail today. When I called to offer to pay for the postage, she refused to take any money for me, straying that she believes there are still good people in this world. She's right, because she certainly is one of them. Kudos, Microtell! Your staff is amazing! It was a great experience all around!

Clean, comfortable hotel very close to the historic area of town. There are two grocery stores very close, within walking distance, but a lack of restaurants. You would have to drive. The room itself had good and bad points.

Good:

It was refurbished and so felt rather new.

It had a couch! I love when there is seating other than a bed.

There was a peninsula with a sink and coffeemaker. Having a sink and food prep area for salads or sandwiches, was a nice boon. Much more pleasant than trying to use a dresser top or wash things in a bathroom sink.

There was a desk and chair, with great task lighting. Also a lot of outlets with both room for plugs and USB cords.

Cons:

The bed was super soft. It's a personal preference, I like medium/ medium firm. A soft bed feels so unsupportive and like I'm bouncing my spouse around when I move even a little.

Carpeting! All this effort to modernize a hotel room, and they chose carpet? It's honestly the worst flooring material you could choose, especially for a hotel. People don't always take off their shoes at the door, and that carpet is just absorbing all that dirt and bacteria. Yuck. Vinyl plank flooring is so much more hygienic, and can be mopped in between guests.

The TV was so confusing to figure out. Or maybe I'm just getting older? No...it's the TV.

No hot breakfast. I can actually live without sausage, pancakes or a waffle maker. But there is a lack of protein options in general. The breakfast offers coffee, juices, yogurt, a single type of fruit, oatmeal packets, bagels, muffins, cereal, and some prepackaged waffle/pastry items you can warm up in the microwave. If you are looking for low sugar options you're pretty much limited to Cheerios. And there is only 2% milk, so if you're intolerant, bring your Lactaid.

No mirror over the desk. This is probably nitpicking. It's just convenient to have a place to do makeup and hair that isn't the bathroom. It's more comfortable to sit and do these things, and it frees up the bathroom if you're sharing the room with someone.

No closet! I looked high and low, and there was no closet! My husband and I actually had formal wear with us for an event, and there was no closet, and no hangers! In place of a closet were a few protruding knobs by the TV that I suppose were intended to hang clothes on.

Overall, it's a clean and fairly comfortable place to stay in the area, and pretty much your only option there.

Had to stay here for almost 2 months. Really happy with the service and rooms. The breakfast is not that great but other than that great place to stay. I’d definitely go back

Great experience! Check in was easy. Rooms were clean and spacious. I stayed in a basic 2 queen bed room. Also had a little "daybed" area near the window that was cute. TV, microwave and quite large mini-fridge included. The rooms were so clean, the beds comfy, and the place quiet and mellow. Great for families and they accept pets! Bathroom had a great lighted mirror, the usual mini-soaps and lots of towels, and an oddly nice bonus is they have little shelfs and hooks for towels instead of just throwing them over the shower like usual. On site they have 24hr coffee and juice in the "dining area" for the breakfast included. Breakfast has usual options; fruit, bagels, waffles, cereal, yogurt. Lots of dining options near by. We grabbed pizza for the night and brought it back. They also had laundry machines should you need them. Yes it is run by teenagers but what do you expect in a small town? They were all kind and professional when we stayed. I would 10/10 stay here again!
