I stopped by the lodge to ask to use the wifi to make a call after my transmission mount broke on the Dugway. Austin, whose family owns the lodge, was incredibly gracious in helping me as I made arrangements for transportation home and mechanics, and waited for the tow truck over the next ~15 hours. It was a lifesaver, given the lack of cell reception in the area.

The lodge has convenient access for Cedar Mesa hiking/backpacking, Valley of the Gods, and San Juan river trips, and is relatively quiet at night even though it sits near the highway.

Rooms and hotel are quite dated. Air condintioning works well and there's an ice machine available. Some rooms are larger than the others and and amenities are limited (no coffee for the coffee maker in our room for example). There is no breakfast available and no pool or hot tub (even though they are visible). I regret not booking just down the road.

Rented a single room for one night and was put out ~150 USD. Room was clean, good sheets, washroom was clean. No complaints about the room, but the area immediately outside reeked of dung. Some common spaces were available but the area was littered with cig butts, mostly blown by the wind from the several overfull ashtrays.

Definitely not worth the cost, but maybe if you can get a deal I'd suggest it. Probably worth looking down the road at the other motels.

Although this motel is definitely showing its age; I was pleasantly surprised once we entered our room. Housekeeping does an amazing job of cleaning and all the linens were pristinely white! While they didn’t have any pillows soft enough for my liking, I simply slept without one and enjoyed a very good night’s rest. We’d certainly stay there again.

Room #6, King bed, large bathroom. Nice eating area with table and 2 chairs.

Bed was perfect. Nice selection of pillows, 6 pillows total and 2 were down - We slept great.

We started off with a warm welcome. While we were unloading out truck the manager gave us his family paper so we could read about stuff to do in the area. He also checked in with us as we were returning to our room a couple nights into our stay to see if we wanted clean towels. Much more personalized service than we get ar a Big brand hotel.

It's a small family business. A few things around the property need picked up or painted. But the room was clean, and the fridge and microwave worked great.

You will need to carry your things up a gradual flight of steps, or stay in one of the ground level cottages.

The area is Perfect for enjoying some Awesome hiking!! Go in the winter - trails you need a permit for and permit only 20 people per day during the summer can be hiked without seeing another person. Temps between 20 and 50 were comfortable for hiking due to the Southern Utah Sun!! ?

Came here for the swinging grill upon recommendation from a friend. Unfortunately the swinging grill is no more. The steak was nothing special served with some green salad and beans. Not worth the high price.

I had read good reviews and booked six months in advance a room at the price of $200. The place is very neglected full of junk in the back. The swimming pool was closed. The room for 4 people that we were assigned in a detached building from the main one was nice and lacked nothing. Apparently, no one had been in there for a while because there was a lot of dirt on the floor at the entrance but the rest was clean and tidy. The same ownership runs the adjacent restaurant. When we went to make dinner reservations we were told that they did not serve alcohol and to bring our own beer if we wanted. So we came back later to have dinner. The menu was very simple, ribs, steak or hamburger, side beans and salad. Perfect for our needs. Forget the grill in the picture, they used a small domestic grill, nothing more. We were disappointed with the food prepared with minimal effort. The beans went from can to plate without a minimum of seasoning or cooking, and the portion of meat and vegetables was minimal especially for the ribs - three in number. Prices high, 3 ribs $20, steak 10 oz $30, burger $18. In addition they charged us $2 for each beer we drank. They told us it was required by law. They didn't bring us water so much as we had our own beers, so we were told. We had to ask for knives because wrapped in the towel there was only a fork. In short, an unbelievable disappointment and in the end the bad feeling of having been a bit cheated.
