I can’t recommend this place enough! As a local, I absolutely love stopping by. The speakeasy offers such a cool and unique experience, but it’s not just that – the entire building has its own distinct vibe that makes every visit feel special. The staff is incredibly welcoming and friendly, which makes the whole atmosphere even more enjoyable. My boyfriend and I went here for their Valentine’s event, and it turned out to be one of our favorite dates. The night out was amazing! We were treated to an incredible show by Joe Dimond, who truly blew us away. After that, we enjoyed a fantastic food, wine, and spirits tasting in the cozy igloo outside, hosted by Juan, who absolutely nailed it. We had an unforgettable time and are so glad we decided to go! Whether you’re looking for a fun night out or a special occasion, I highly recommend this place for any and all reasons!

Enjoyed amazing cocktails (best Old Fashions) in the mansion and Speakeasy. Our room was beautiful, comfy bed and whirlpool tub. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be back!!

Recently stayed here and would love to come back! The rooms are exactly as pictured, horse theme throughout is amazing with the unique vibe of the lobby & bars. Bed was comfy. Staff was excellent especially one of the bartenders upstairs (Dont know his name) nice young man and Jennifer at the front desk provided superior attentiveness assisting me late at night! I do wish they had a small convenience store or small breakfast on the property, but no big deal. I would stay again!

What an interesting place to stay in the Lake Geneva WI area. The buildings are historic and the furnishings are awesome. We stayed in a Queen Whirlpool room in the Carriage House. The whirlpool fit two and just to sit in there and watch the big TV was great, great, great. The Speakeasy with the different old timey drinks was our favorite.

The experience itself was fantastic and we loved having a room with a tub during the freezing winter! It was also easy to walk to anything in town and the parking lot was big enough for large vehicles.

The drinks at the main bar and the speakeasy were SO good and all the bartenders/mixoligists were amazing! It was an experience I'd definitely go for again, i just don't think we'd lodge here again.

I was disappointed with the room. There was nowhere but the ground to put our bags. There were a few small tables, a dresser, and a TV console, but everything had stuff on it, so there was nowhere to put anything.

The curtains also stunk. The AC/heater blew them open every time it ran and you'd be able to see right in our room, so I had to rig them shut. I was also very happy I brought an eye mask, because the porch lights stay on all night and the curtains are not at all blackout, so it was really bright.

The last bummer was the bed. You could tell it was older because my husband and I just sank to the middle of it all weekend. I can't say we slept great because we were fighting to get out of a hole all night.

We decided to visit Lake Geneva for a quick babymoon. From the Chicago area. Found the Maxwell Mansion via Instagram and couldn’t wait to book a room. It was a perfect place for my husband and I. We enjoyed our stay in the main mansion in the Jane Austen room. All of the staff was so friendly and welcoming. Jenne, the manager, was ever present and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Ralph, one of the bartenders at the Apothecary Bar was so knowledgeable and accommodating. Lived all his Non Alcoholic creations! If you are looking for a unique stay that is off the beaten path but still close enough to all the action that Lake Geneva has to offer, this is the place! It was so quiet and cozy and felt like we stepped back in time with all the vintage decor. Truly a gem in the heart of Lake Geneva.

First of all, the location is walking distance to everything. The speakeasy is amazing. The room was clean and had a separate entrance. Community fire pits all around. My favorite thing... was the ice. There is a big ice box by the stables, and the ice is separated into little bags instead of having a scoop. Amazing.

My husband and I stayed at Maxwell Mansion this fall and it was great. There were three room options, we chose the "Stables" building which was a fully renovated/new building. Our room was so cute and romantic- with a jacuzzi in room and thoughtful touches like mini scented bath salts and super soft robes. I loved that it was an adult only hotel with a speakeasy in the basement....super cool. We got the password from the Facebook page and had great cocktails. We also got to experience the Joe Diamond mind reader. I had no idea it would be so popular, and it filled up super quick. I will definitely be back in the summer to try out the outdoor salt water pool and highly recommend for a couples getaway.
