We had our wedding at Matanuska Glacier Retreat on 6/6/24 and it truly was magical!
The venue is truly jaw dropping. They have a very romantic feeling tent set up with a floor put in. The finished bathrooms are right next door and the whole setup feels very upscale considering you are essentially in the middle of nowhere.
We had our guests stay at Alpenglow campground and Sheep Mountain Lodge and used the shuttle service which worked out really nicely. I would definitely recommend using their shuttle service as the venue location itself is a little difficult to find.
We added on the helicopter photo shoot which honestly I can’t imagine not doing because that experience was once in a lifetime and lead to some epic wedding photos.
Everyone we worked with was super friendly and helpful to work with. Response time was sometimes a little slow but that's Alaska for you! They executed everything as promised.
My only big word of advice is to make sure they mark the entrance to the venue- there was no marker except for a private property sign and it is a dirt road so we did lose some valuable set up time trying to find the place the day of.
We only had 30 people and even though they say they can accommodate more I think more than 50 would be entirely too crowded as it’s not a very big space.
Overall our experience was really wonderful and our guests raved about it. It is incredibly unique and they venue is very happy to work with you and make your day special.
If you want a jaw dropping background and you’re okay with a rustic but refined experience you won’t be disappointed!!
