Beautiful covered bridge just outside Chester, Illinois is well worth a pull off the road! There are very informative signs giving local historical references at the beginning of the bridge. The best views are the front and after going through you will get better view on the other side of the stream going under the bridge and some nice rock formations, worthy of some nice photo ops!

Mary's Bridge has an interesting history. We were disappointed to see how it is deteriorating. I would like to have seen when it was intact.

Pretty little covered bridge. Outside of Chester and easy to find. Plenty of parking. Not much for water flowing under the bridge when we visited. A place to have a picnic right there. Appears some money was spent to assure this will be around for quite some time. Free.

Well, it apparently has fallen in, and no one has fixed it. We drove over 3 hours to come see some illinois history, and it looks like this.. if I was you, I'd try to fixed out if it's fixed before i made the trip

One of my ancestors helped to build this original bridge. Seeing the roof torn off was sad. I'm hoping it can be repaired with most of the original materials.
