They were very accommodating especially with the situation we were dealing with. Got us a room in a very timely manner and gave us a discount when we had to stay longer than expected. Brought us ice and offered coffee in the morning. A great family and place to stay. Highly recommend if you are in the area!

I have stayed here the past four or so years the same weekend. It is not top of the line or the cleanest. But I enjoyed the homey atmosphere. That was until this weekend. The season for the Japanese beetles began and they are all over. They were swarming in some of the rooms. It appears they are getting in through the old windows of the building. After they vacuumed twice to remove the bugs (this was not successful), I had a discussion with the owner. I finally asked for reimbursement, he smuggly said no. He says all he can do is provide a shop vacuo I can keep vacuuming them up. No customer should have to use a shop vac in a room they are paying to stay in every 1/2 hour so they do not get swarmed. I did "storm out" saying he will hear more about that and went to try make this bug infested room workout. Shorty after that he met me with a check and said "Here's your money back. Get the F*** out." He the carried on a called me a F*** drunk C***. Sorry I hate that word. FYI I was not drunk, He had problems understanding me because I started to talk fast as his rudeness angered me at our first meeting. I was called those vulgarities a couple times. I was told to never come back, hmmm no problem there! ||1. I was not being rude to have been treated like that and no business owner should be using vulgar language to customers.||2. If the bugs can't be controlled, don't book those rooms until things get better.||3. Yes it's a country setting but if people are paying to stay at your establishment, don't expect it ok to have bugs in the room and fix it by providing a shop vac!||Trust me those bugs were swarming and landing on people.

We were looking for something affordable, clean and without cigarette odors. We wanted to run between Savanna, Galena, and some of the vineyards near Elizabeth, so this was centrally located. We felt their rates were reasonable. They have various price points, depending on what you need...our needs were simple. We knew we were not going to be spending a lot of time there, but we DID want to know that we were staying someplace reputable and clean. Our room was very roomy, clean, decorated in country/retro (Loved the mid-century dining table!!), FULL bathroom, refrigerator and microwave. The bed was very comfortable. The only criticism is that it was a bit warm, and the A/C did not seem to be working properly. In the morning, Donna left us a tray that included a pot of coffee and muffins. (This is NOT a B&B....this is an added amenity). The creamers are all very unique, and this was fitting with the overall "theme" of the facility. Donna is friendly, professional and helpful. If we were going to the area again, we would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at this lovely hotel last weekend. Should I ever find myself in this area again, I will definitely stay here. It's true, there are wonderful muffins and coffee outside your door every morning! The owners are awesome, and treated us like family, instead of guests. They even had a bonfire on Sunday morning, just before we left. Stay here, you won't be disappointed!!

I won’t think of leaving my dogs at home when traveling by car. My recent trip to Galena was made pleasurable when I stayed at Marcotte Family Motel on 20 East. Not only were Kate and Duke welcome, but there was plenty of fields and country lanes for them to exercise. The room was clean, Donna, the proprietor friendly, and the delicious muffins and morning coffee delivered to your room a delight. It is an old fashion motel with charm.

Marcotte’s is a fantastic place to stay! Super clean and quaint! The owners are wonderful and great. This was my second time at the motel and could not wait to show it to my friend. Spacious room, very comfortable bed, and the coffee tray in the morning was the cherry on top! Prices are very reasonable and it is not a chain! You will not be disappointed, trust me!

One night stay. The good is was ours was a clean room. Bathroom was clean. Linens were clean. Good towels. Now the bad. No dead bolt on the door. Terrible lighting. Beds had no head boards. Pillows were thin at best. Furniture was dated and finish was worn off. Toilet paper was single ply. Shampoo packets were so old there was hardly a drop inside. Door key (yes it was an actual key) was almost impossible to operate the lock. Plus there was a man smoking at the back of his pickup watching my daughter and I come an go to dinner for 3 hours. This made my daughter terribly uncomfortable. We stayed in room 9.
