I've stayed at this Mainstay Suites multiple times for medical purposes. I've always had a great experience. This time I checked in during the day and there was a young girl and a Manager and they were extremely helpful and pleasant. They went above and beyond to assign us a room that wouldn't make it difficult for me after my medical treatments. The rooms are a pretty good size. My room was nice and clean. I love that there is a dishwasher in the room. There's also a coffee machine and toaster and some basic kitchen essentials. The cable channel selections are nice. Bathrooms are bright and roomy. This facility has a nice modern fitness room and a clean laundry room with plenty of machines, vending machines with a nice selection, a place to sit down as well as a large area to fold your clothes. One feature that I absolutely love is that there is a designated area to take your bagged garbage which they regularly check and quickly dispose of any garbage bags that are there. I have been to hotels that make you walk your garbage to a dumpster way at the end of the parking lot and no one wants to be doing that every day. Within a short walk is a Target, Dollar Tree, Raising Cane and alot of other stores and places to eat.In the immediate area there are fine dining restaurants and a couple of banks with ATM's. It's very close to Woodfield Mall which is accessible via public transportation and the stop is very close. You can also take a short bus ride to the town's public transportation hub where many different buses stop and can take you to the city, surrounding suburbs or just around town. I have had positive experiences at Mainstay Suites in Schaumburg. All of the staff are friendly and helpful. The evening desk staff are very pleasant. As even five-star hotels have one or two things that could be improved. In this case the only thing I feel can be improved is the wifi which can lag at times. Other than that I highly recommend Mainstay Suites for business or pleasure travel. With or without kids and pets which they also allow. Look beyond the negative reviews. You can't make everyone happy and some people have a tendency to exaggerate and even make things up if their sometimes unreasonable needs are not met and they will post a bad review to show their dissatisfaction. You'll find that your stay here will meet your needs and deliver an enjoyable experience.

Rented my room for 2 nights , upon driving in was amazed at the cleanliness of the outdoors, well lit . The gentleman working this evening was so friendly. The room was immaculate. Everything you need for a short visit( rooms have dishwashers and dishes ) THAT ARE CLEAN ! Very satisfied with my stay .

I lived here for a month in March 2025! The staff is very unfriendly! I asked for the room to be cleaned during the week, after two weeks of living! Internet and Wi-Fi are completely absent! In terms of price, it's not bad, but the service is dead!

Staff was incredibly rude because I had a dog and incredibly sarcastic! Room smelled of mildew. The other guest who slammed the door in my face was clearly worthy of a mental health evaluation. I wouldn't stay here again if you paid me

A reservation was made through hotels.com, however, an error occurred and the incorrect date was booked. Chris, a staff member at the front desk, demonstrated exceptional customer service by assisting me in resolving the issue. He guided me through the necessary steps to modify the date on his end through Mainstay. Once the changes were successfully made, the check-in process was completed with ease. Chris's proactive approach and willingness to go above and beyond to rectify the situation were truly commendable. For anyone considering a stay at this establishment, I highly recommend their services based on this positive experience.

Was issued Room #328 on 01/06/2025. I walked in, and the first thing I saw was cockroaches. There is no cancelation policy, and I already paid for 4 nights. So, again, on 01/06/2025, I was issued a new room, which is just as bad as the 1st one.
The table in the room is about to fall apart, meaning I can't even put my laptop on it or have a place to eat.
I would love the manager of this place to reach out to me. You know the date and duration of my stay. Look for the phone number on file and call.

We moved the chair to sit in and this was underneath it. Discusting, we had over 5 rooms so we paid a good amount. Some rooms smelt like piss, some like cigarettes some like weed it was all bad . And all of them were nasty.

I have now stayed here twice- VERY different experiences.

The first stay was nearly perfect. My sister and I were in town for 5 days so we landed her, as it was going to be cheapest! Our room was nice and clean, but lacked any type of desk or table to eat at. No biggie, we ate out a lot anyway and we didn't mind sitting on the floor or the edge of the bed. Photos of our room DO show a table, but whatever we were fine. Since it went well last month, we returned this month for 3 days, and it was pretty bad.

No hate to them, but a lot of the guests hang out outside smoking and talking and YELLING... not fun but not necessarily the hotels fault. We arrived to check in and it went smoothly, until we got to our room. It REEKED of cigarettes, and the window had been left open (we assume, to air out the smell). According to other reviews this seems to be common, so I assume they don't have separate smoking rooms, they just charge you extra if you smoke in any room. I better not see a charge for smoking, because neither of us smoke; never have, never will. I'm now home 8 hours away and my clothes and suitcase ALSO smell like cigarettes.

I know the place was cheap, but maybe a heads up we could be staying in a room someone could've smoked in would've been nice!

The only reason we didn't ask to switch rooms is because someone checking in before us had already asked to switch rooms (she mentioned something about a crazy ex husband... i dont know, but maybe itll ring a bell) and she was told she would have to speak with management at 9am because there were no more rooms available, so she'd have to upgrade and it was a whole thing. We assumed we'd be told the same thing so we dealt with the smell for the night.

Unfortunately the next day when we went out to shop, no one was at the desk for us to speak to. We didn't care too much but it still sucked, and judging from other reviews its common and doesn't seem to be dealt with. We just had to deal with it until the next morning anyway, but again it would've been nice to know.

The guy at the front desk when we checked in was nice, and so was the other guy there when we checked out. You definitely get what you pay for, buuuut definitely won't be back here unfortunately.
