This restaurant has great potential but needs some work. Let’s start with the food. We dined in and were blown away by the incredible sushi—the best in the area, especially considering Round Lake’s usual fare of hamburgers and fried food. The crab rangoons were out of this world, and the miso soup was delicious, though not served hot. The house Japanese salad was cold, wet, and delicious, the dressing was fantastic, but sparse. Despite these minor issues, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

The chef is fantastic, and the menu is plentiful for a Chinese/Japanese themed restaurant. They offer an all you can eat Chinese/Japanese menu, but it is expensive for the area at around $32 per person. The staff is also experienced. However, the dining room is very small and split in half with a gaming area, which is unfortunately a major attraction in the Round Lake area. The restaurant is due for a significant redesign update.

Unfortunately, they are severely understaffed to handle the influx of carryout orders. There were only six small tables and one large table, and one of the booths was used as an office. We ended up sitting in the cold back corner. The wait for food was long, as it seemed like there was only one chef cooking Chinese and preparing sushi, who had to go back and forth between the kitchen and the sushi bar.

Once the food arrived, the presentation was absolutely stunning and exceeded our expectations. The sushi was expertly prepared and the cuts of sushi were high-grade. We highly recommend dining in. If this restaurant can increase revenue, they should invest in more staff and remove the gaming area. Focus on the exceptional food, as it’s the main draw here. I understand why people complain about their food when ordering out for delivery, it seems like the restaurant may be prioritizing dining room customers over delivery orders. also, this type of food is best served piping hot.
We did not experience any problems with the food, and will definitely return to dine in.

Investors may be a great opportunity ?

Went there this past Friday night for dinner. There was a gentleman at the register picking up an order, he handed his CC to the lil man(maybe 12 yrs old?) who proceeded to tell the gentleman it would be an extra $1.00 bc he was using his CC. Not a deal breaker but that should be something that is noted prior to any order as this man was surprised, just my personal opinion. No one appreciates surprises of additional monies. I understand the cost of things going up. Maybe incorporate it in the prices
Anyway we were seated at a table by the back exit door. It was VERY cold, we never took our jackets off. There was one other table occupied by a young couple who left shortly after we got there, otherwise there were no other patrons sitting here for dinner. Obviously we were like....hmmmmm in a Friday night for dinner and no one around. I usually read reviews but honestly did not have time before. The little man came to take our drink order(don't think I could have ordered alcohol from him), I had water and the hubby a coke. Both came from their fountain area, husband said the coke was horrible and not able to drink it. My water tasted horrible! Definitely bad well water, disgusting! Hubby got up and got himself a can of coke and a bottle of water for me. They should have offered that from the beginning. There was a nice gal that came to take our order. She seemed like she was in a hurry, not rude to us but like she had a million things to do. We ordered fried Potstickers and a couple of shrimp egg rolls both of which were definitely Air Fried and Obviously NOT homemade. I know the difference. These were disappointing, I could not finish them. For the main meals I ordered a small Moo goo gai pan and hubby ordered Sesame Chicken. I will say my meal had a decent flavor, was very salty(probably one of the reasons the chicken was so tender lol) and hubby said his Sesame Chicken was pretty good. The portions were good, we both had leftovers. I can say I highly doubt we would go back again. The place itself was not put together clean when you walked in and it smelled like fish. Whenever there is a heavy odor of fish I get totally turned off. Nothing can be good about that... that whiff opening a restaurant door can never be a good sign. Their Menu has way too many choices. Chef Ramsey would give then some advice on that. The more I see and little to no patrons the more I wonder how long their food is sitting and how they are cooking/preparing all these dishes. I wish them luck, I think they will need it. As another review said, this place does have potential. I personally will not wait before I try another place.

Do NOT eat here!! I would give 0 stars if I could. I ordered take out from them and found a worm in my mei fun noodles. Which means their kitchen is either dirty or they don’t wash their vegetables. On top of that the food was not good at all, no flavor. Also, the customer service was terrible. I went in there to tell them I found a bug in my food and to show them the picture, to get a refund for my order since we threw all the food away. Obviously if there are bugs in one dish chances are they are going to be in another. The manager wasn’t there and the lady I talked to didn’t even apologize all she could said was “oh I wasn’t there that day so I don’t know what happened” like whaaaaat? What do you mean you don’t know what happened. For that to be all she said is crazy. She took down my number and said the manager would call me but I never got a call. So my husband called them late the next day and whoever was there said she could only give us a refund for the noodles since that was the only dish with a bug… refused to give us a full refund even though we had to throw away all our food since we didn’t trust it. Clearly they could care less that we found a bug in our food. It wasn’t a big deal to them at all, didn’t even seem surprised. Absolutely disgusting establishment. I will continue to tell everyone not to eat here.

Me and my family came there and wow it was so amazing! The food was really nice I got the sea food boil combo for 1 ! And it was so feeling I'm a fast eater but I couldn't. Eat it all in one sitting 😅. I had leftovers but I would highly recommend this place! It's really nice and a calming atmosphere ♡!

Delicious. First time dining IN and a first time since they added sushi and everything was great. The Crab Rangoon is the best we have had at any restaurant, ever. General Tso was very good. If you want it spicier you may have to ask but just the right amount for us. Spicy Tuna Roll was exceptional.

Just wasn’t good. I was concerned that I couldn’t smell Chinese food in the car as I drove home. No taste and the veggies had a weird texture like they were reheats.

The sushi was not only thoughtfully and aesthetically put together, but tasted amazing too. Our favorites were the Big Mac roll and the playboy roll. The owners were also really kind and had great conversation while waiting for our order. Would recommend for great sushi in Round Lake Beach area.
