My mom, sister, and I booked a room for 2 nights as a stay-cation. The room was great, good for 3 people and a dog. We spent $430+ for the two nights, which is a little pricey. For the price, we were expecting free breakfast, free coffee, and the spa to be open all weekend. No to all. The website does not disclose that there is no free breakfast or coffee, and as for the spa, there's an external link for the hours. We mainly booked the hotel for the spa, but we were unable to use it.
When we confronted the front desk about free breakfast/coffee, they said we could buy starbucks or pay $20/person at their restaurant.
We also got takeout one night but had no plates or utensils. We went to the front desk to ask, and they told us we could get some at the restaurant. We went to the restaurant and they told us "we don't have plates, we have takeout boxes". Clearly, the restaurant has plates and utensils, but since we didn't want to sit down and eat at the restaurant, they didn't want us to have some plates.
It made us feel like a bother to them when we paid $400+ to stay at the hotel.

Overall, I recommend staying, but be prepared to bring your own plates and utensils, and going out to eat constantly if you don't want to eat at the restaurants.

Excellent staff and service, ancient building.

The Lincolnshire Marriott Resort is aging and needs a renovation. The rooms are tiny and the HVAC ancient. I had to step in sideways (I am not making this up) just to fit into the bathroom. Had I been a little taller it would have been unusable. The shower was old and rusting and toilet ran constantly. The heat was so loud it kept me up half the night.

The resort has great amenities, a Starbucks, two restaurants and a spa. You can easily enjoy your day without leaving the building.

The staff was excellent. From the front desk to Starbucks, every interaction was great. They obviously prioritize service.

So what to do? I left and booked a room at the nearly Courtyard and….returned for the Starbucks and dinner.

My family and I have stayed here several times and each time has been phenomenal! The location is secluded, with beautiful, natural, scenery. The indoor and outdoor pool is amazing, as are the restaurants. We typically see a children’s play, at the theater, with each visit and the convenience is great, as you don’t need to leave the property. Also, a full working Starbucks, onsite is a welcome reward. Lastly, the manager, Kendrick is extremely friendly, accommodating, helpful, and so professional. We can’t wait to return!

Stay anywhere else in the area. This hotel is outdated and has water damage in the rooms. They also did not let us know that there was a huge wedding for our entire stay and they put us in the middle of the wedding block. Between dogs barking in other rooms and our neighbors yelling at all hours of the night and day, it was a terrible stay. We were woken up all night for all 3 nights of our stay. The front desk was not helpful. Overall waste of money and would not recommend anyone stay here. There are so many more options.

We have been coming to Lincolnshire Marriott Resort for almost a decade. We are well-traveled family and love a good staycation in the local Chicago area where we don’t have to travel far to make it feel like a great trip. In the summer is by far the best time to visit because they have access to the state park trail, tennis, outdoor pool and firepit, playground for littles and it’s a beautiful place that feels like a world away tucked privately in a nice setting. We love the service too, shoutout this time to Kendrick at the front desk check in who made our toddler girls feel so special and welcome and was just such a positive check in experience! We love the rooms and grounds and it’s so convenient as parents to have a Starbucks, breakfast buffet and an onsite bar and restaurant for dinner. We will always love this place and look forward to coming back again soon!

We stayed for spring break staycation so kids could swim and eat out. My biggest complaint was pool (main reason for our stay). Indoor pool is not huge and they were holding swim lessons almost the entire time we were there. I feel they should maybe notify guests that is part of the amenity bc they blocked off half the pool for the lessons and would not let us use the entire pool (for several hours). The instructors even went as far as to say to us it's "difficult to instruct with a lot of guests in the pool". We are paying customers so in my mind that is really not my problem if it's too crowded for swim lessons.

I also agree w/ many others about the rooms. They are not impressive and VERY small (room/bathroom and bed are all very small) and are pretty outdated. HVAC is loud but that didn't bother me. No fan in the bathroom which I didn't love.

Then we had an incident at dinner (at Wright) which was a little annoying. There was a very belligerent/obnoxious guest at Wright swearing around my kids, walking all over the restaurant talking nonsense (being really inappropriate), a drunken idiot. Eventually they asked him to leave "bc a guest complained" but I cant believe they waited as long as they did. I feel they could have stepped in MUCH SOONER. This person was inappropriate and towards the end he was threatening other guests.

All in all it was fine, the kids had fun and the food was amazing. Everything we ordered @ Wright was fantastic. Starbucks was awesome. M Lounge is totally worth it (I saw mixed reviews on this but for us it was amazing). 2 attached restaurants and bar, all very nice. In summer I bet outdoor pool is really fun too (looked nice!).

I attended a conference at the hotel and found it to be quite lovely, with a relaxing atmosphere. The pond near the bar area added a nice touch, making conversations enjoyable and memorable.

While I’m not sure Lincolnshire would be my choice for a personal getaway, the hotel itself was thoroughly enjoyable.

Honestly, I was pretty disappointed. Everyone was very nice, but the rooms need a serious renovation. Especially for what we paid. The toilet was clogged the second I came in, which was disgusting. The actual door to get inside the bathroom is only 2 ft wide, which is odd. Im not a large guy and even i had to turn sideways to get inside. The faucet wouldn't work-only the hot water, the shower took like 5 minutes to be warm, which was interesting, and you have to pay $17 a day for internet. Then, I don't know if I got put next to a smoking room or something, but whoever was next to me was filling my room with cigarette smoke every morning. It was brutal.

Honestly, if it hadn't been for my company paying for the room, I would've asked for a discount.
