Definitely not the premium product Marriott promots the Le Meridien to be. The bed was comfortable but the linens were well used and getting very thin. The room temperature did not seem to be affected by the thermastat setting and tended to run cold. Someone had a small dog that was barking for hours one of the nights. ||I tried using some of my suite night upgrade certificates on this stay as it showed both the Excutive and Presidential suites available. The day before arriving I was notified that there were no upgrades available and they were denying the use of the certificates. When I checked in they gave me an upgrade to a Premium Deluxe room. I asked what the difference was and was told it had two sets of slipers and bathrobes. Premium rooms are a corner room on a lower floor with one set of slippers and bathrobe. Classic rooms are on the lowest floors with no extras. I have stayed here one other time and actually found the corner room to be slightly larger and to me seemd more premium. ||I was curious and attempted to book another room and found that I could have booked either of the suites for cash the same days I was there. I understand the use of the certificates is up to local management but one would think it would be better to give the room to a high tier rewards customer and attempt to sell there standard room for cash. It's a lot easier to sell a $200 night room than a $500-800 ||

Stay here frequently and the rooms are always clean and service is always amazing. With it being 4 degrees outside they even gave our group free shuttle service to the restaurant and back. First class. They have a great lounge with very nice view from the 9th floor. The coffee bar in the lobby is excellent as well.

I don’t usually write reviews, but Larissa at the lobby bar of the hotel completely blew me away. She made me the best espresso martini I’ve ever had—perfectly smooth, just the right amount of sweetness, and honestly, next level. You can tell she’s seriously talented.

She was also so friendly and helpful. I told her a little about the kinds of drinks I like, and she gave me some great recommendations that were spot-on. She really went above and beyond to make sure I had an amazing experience.

If you’re staying at the hotel or just stopping by, do yourself a favor and head to the lobby bar to see Larissa. She’s incredible and will make your night!

Disappointing Stay for a “4-Star” Hotel

As avid travelers who’ve stayed at numerous 4- and 5-star properties. We had high expectations for this hotel, especially given its prime location in Oakbrook’s shopping district. Unfortunately, it fell far short.

The rooms were tiny, dark, and cramped, with dirty carpet and dusty surfaces. The bathroom had a foul smell, particularly from the curtains, and the pillows were unpleasantly musty. The overall cleanliness was lacking, making for a very uncomfortable stay. The pictures they show on the website for the room/bathroom are pretty deceiving. We even requested a change of room, after we entered and realized it was too tiny for our family (a baby and a pet), but nothing.

For the price and reputation, this hotel did not meet the standards we’ve come to expect from a 4-star property, and we would not recommend it.

As for the staff at the front desk and valet, the one star is for them only. They were warm, professional and welcoming.

My friend and I stopped by The Lobby Bar for a quick reunion after work, and we were absolutely blown away by the bartender. She was incredibly fun, personable, and talented. We shared a few drink ideas, and she created a variety of delicious cocktails that exceeded our expectations. Her skills as a mixologist are top-notch!

What started as a quick visit turned into an extended evening because we were having such a great time with her. We even ended up staying until closing! I wish I could have tipped her everything I had, but instead, my friend and I both decided to leave her a glowing review. If you're looking for an amazing bar experience, definitely check out the lobby bar in this hotel. you won't be disappointed and you’ll have a lot of fun

I edited my Feedback. I wanted to be sure to mention all the names of the persons that were customer service friendly (FANTASTIC) that day!!

I was at Le Meridien on Sat. (March 1, 2025) for a Birthday Celebration, which was actually the wrong date.
The correct date for the Birthday Celebration was actually on Sat. (March 22, 2025).
The Service Desk (Dayana & Isaac) were sooo helpful & provided great customer service.
The Bellsman (Eric) was also helpful (offered coffee) before I left.
The Bar Maid (Dewey) also was very helpful: I was trying to order cappacino with whip cream on top. The Bar Maid stated they didn't have whip cream, but she could make the cappacino with 2% milk (great suggestion).
The customer service @ the hotel was the best ever!!

Positive: Location to things we wanted to do Negative: The room we had definitively was not 4.5 star quality. It felt like a quality inn and suites. The bedroom was large and spacious but nothing fancy. The bathroom was so small and no exhaust fan. I could have gotten the same quality of room for cheaper.

The rooms were clean, property nicely maintained and the customer service was phenomenal. Staff would see a need and immediately meet the need - sometimes without asking. ||I would definitely stay at this hotel again! Great choice for any occasion.
