Carol was an awesome hostess - as were Bella and Buffy, her adorable dogs! We stayed in Miss Faye's Room - it was beautifully decorated and the bed was beyond comfortable. For breakfast, Carol made a blueberry strata and a yogurt parfait with macadamia nuts and shredded coconut. Amazing! Additionally, she went out of her way to make our stay relaxing, offering dining suggestions and even providing my husband with an ashtray to enjoy his favorite vice - a cigar - on the relaxing patio. Thank you to both Carol and Larry for a very comfortable stay!!

We stayed in the Miss Foye room. Bright colors were uplifting, especially since the weather was drizzly and cloudy. Liked the turquoise accents. There were bowls and glass containers of pretty shells in the bathroom. Larry and Carol were delightful and made us feel more like family than guests. Carol made a gluten free banana chocolate chip bread for me that was delicious and a colorful fresh fruit cup with blackberries, grapes, kiwi, pineapple, raspberries and whipped topping. My husband thought her pumpkin bread was fabulous and it smelled wonderful while baking. The table settings were beautifully done. The living room area was cozy and upstairs there was a cute little sitting area. Bedrooms are all upstairs. The bed in our room was very comfortable. The household dogs, Shih Tzu's, Bella and Buffy were a good welcoming committee. ||The only downside was the sound of the freight trains that run through town several times a day. There are nice hiking areas just out of Mena. Janssen Park, a pretty city park is nearby. We would highly recommend the Johnson Manor B&B. A lovely refurbished Victorian home that is very welcoming and with very hospitable hosts! !

I traveled with my husband to complete a job in Mena, AR. After spending a night in a disgusting hotel I was grateful to find the Johnson Manor! Carol and Larry took us in and made us feel right at home. The house itself is georgeous with lots of historical charm and Carol is gifted at decor! Our room was clean and comfortable. There was a full line up of cable channels to choose from as well as quick wifi. There was even a small fridge with cold drinks and a basket with snacks waiting for us each day. The only complaint I can make against the food it that there was too much! We enjoyed delicious parfaits every morning follwed by omlets and sausage or a breakfast casserole with bacon. The coffee/tea bar was well stocked as well.||Carol was a joy to just sit and chat with during the day while I waited for my husband to be off. She even drove me into Fort Smith to go shopping with her. Had it not been for Carol and Larry I would have been stuck sitting alone in a dirty hotel room for an entire week waiting for my husband to finish his job. I am grateful they had a vacancy! I would be willing to join my husband on another trip to Mena in a heartbeat but only if we stay at the Johnson Manor.

My Mother is almost 87 and I wanted to take her on a special overnight get-away. Mother loves historic homes and Johnson Manor is exactly that. Larry & Carol were great. Made us feel so welcome. Our room was so cozy. Anything we may have anticipated was there for us. We enjoyed our coffee in the morning while visiting with other guests. Breakfast was wonderful and bountiful. We sat around the table and visited with the other guests and Larry & Carol like we were old friends. There was absolutely nothing uncomfortable about our stay. Recommended!

Carol and Larry were superb hosts.||We greatly enjoyed staying at this B&B.||The breakfast Carol prepared was superb!....Very tasty! ( we will try making those "Yummy Breakfast Rolls"!||We enjoyed visiting with Carol and Larry and hearing about their story and getting to know them. Their dogs, Bella and Buffy, are very friendly and also entertaining.||The location of the B&B is excellent for walking around town; there is a park, shops, and restaurants within walking distance.||||Would recommend!

Larry and Carol Johnson are the proprietors of this beautiful Bed & Breakfast. We stayed in the Lone Star Suite - the largest bedroom in the house. We loved the California King bed and pillows - the best sleep we've had in years! The home is beautiful and all the lovely pieces of pottery, artwork, linens, etc make this a very special home. Larry and Carol are so gracious and friendly. We loved the delicious breakfasts that Larry prepared for us, and we truly enjoyed the time we spent visiting with them. A lovely couple - a lovely home - and we hope to return!

Johnson Manor is located just east of the eastern end of the Talimena Parkway. The old home has the original woodwork in prime condition. The room we had (Lone Star Room) was quite spacious, with comfortable lounge chairs surrounded by windows. The bed was very high, but a stool is available if needed. The mattress was also quite comfortable. The owners were very friendly and let us watch a World Series game with them in the living room, although we could have easily watched it in our room. Breakfast was enormous, if a tad sweet. Carol was extremely accommodating to a couple who were vegetarian and needed gluten free food. NOTE: Mena is a dry town. You can be served alcohol at some of the restaurants, but you will need to bring your own otherwise.

We had three couples, ourselves and four friends, stay with Larry and Carol Johnson at their adorable Johnson Manor Bed and Breakfast. We arrived much later than anticipated but Larry and Carol were waiting for us regardless. Even though this was the first time we met Larry & Carol, it was like meeting long-time friends. Their place is everything you expect in a B&B and their warmth and hospitality made our stay one of our most memorable yet. Looking forward to going back soon.
