The Inn San Francisco was an incredible find. I was traveling for business, and all of the hotels near Union Square were outrageous. I prefer neighborhoods over city centers anyway, and was thrilled to get the last available room at Inn San Francisco. Easy walk to/from the BART. Marty and the entire staff were lovely, and the space was really special. Reminded me of brownstones in Brooklyn. Gorgeous garden, amazing view from rooftop deck, delicious breakfast with fresh fruit, quiche, hard boiled eggs, pastries, etc available (and included) from 7-11a every day. I'll stay here again when I'm back in SF!

My fiance and I stayed here almost two years ago now when we were just visiting, and the fantastic time we had convinced her the move was worth doing!

Marty is a beautiful soul, wonderfully eccentric in the most endearing way, and he obviously has a passion for his cozy little bed and breakfast.

My stay here was some of the most fun I had ever had. A grand adventure, with a beautiful cozy Victorian hideout to retreat to. Wholesome breakfast each morning. Funny interactions with the staff. I stayed here while we found our place in the world. I'll always remember it.

The view from the roof is miraculous as well. I'd suggest this place to anyone interested in visiting, well above any other hotel.

Marty said he'd officiate our wedding, and when we do it I plan to hold him to that. Also, fun fact, he speaks mandarin.

Staff and owner are very lovely and welcoming people. Only there for one night and got upgraded to a bigger room without even asking! Beautiful garden, rooftop and location. Got to leave my bag after checking as my flight was later in the afternoon. All in all excellent!

We stayed here for 3 nights to help our son move into his new apartment in the Mission area. We really loved the personal touches that this place has to offer. Marty gave us a welcome tour and explained the history of the area and a tour of the house. There is a beautiful outdoor garden and a hot tub.|There is always hot water and tea bags available 24/7 plus regular and decaf coffee. |Breakfast every morning from 7-11 is the best you will ever have. Assortment of fruit, yogurts, pastry, cheeses, salami, quiche, oatmeal etc.|It was so nice to meet the other guests who were from all over the world and of course Marty is there every morning asking what your plans are.|Parking is a challenge on this street, for an extra fee ( $35) there is a secure garage, though the spaces are tight ( better to have a smaller car)|The only negative was our particular room ( #35) the shower is a claw foot tub with a shower curtain and it is not in its own room, so when my husband would shower the room got pretty humid. The toilet is in its own small room. TV was also not working, but was not an issue for us. We did see other rooms as people left and they are all different.|The bedding was super comfortable and we slept very well.|We cant wait to return in the future. The only place we will stay in SF. Thank you Marty for making our stay extra special.

My husband and I have been staying at the Inn San Francisco for 15 years .... since our son moved to California's Mission District in 2009. Finding this authentic Victorian home converted into a warm, beautifully decorated, and meticulous B&B was such a welcomed surprise. We've spent numerous holidays at the Inn and consistently found them all tastefully decorated in the holiday spirit. We've probably stayed in almost every room (including the Garden Cottage) and found each has its own unique style. Breakfast offers multiple varieties of delicious offerings which never disappoint. Comfortable common area sitting rooms combined with soft, classical music provide a relaxing, almost zen-like environment for relaxing. The roof-top deck (spectacular 360-degree view) and the backyard garden with hot tub are outdoor areas not to miss. But most of all, it's Marty and his superior staff; especially, Evelyn, that make you feel welcomed and part of the family ... whether it's your first visit or you've been coming for 15 years! BTW, we've already made our reservations for Thanksgiving.

I wanted to like this place. The decor is interesting, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. It's just that we booked this place specifically so that we could use a hot tub late at night. On the website, it mentions that each room has a hot tub and that there is a 24 hour tub in the garden that you can use, as long as you are respectful. Once we get there. they tell us that means the jets can't be used either in the room or outside after 9. Then we find out the jets in the outdoor tub are broken. Since it was the whole reason we booked, we won't be returning.

A truly gorgeous experience. The property is stunning with oodles of delightful Victorian style touches. We arrived around 11am and were invited to help ourselves to breakfast - a real bonus. Loved exploring the Mission district. Take a walk up to Bernal Heights for stunning views of the city. Enjoy the great beer at Shotwell Saloon and the food at the Mexican just down the road from the Inn.

My daughter and I loved this bed and breakfast! Marty and Evelyn were wonderful, so friendly and helpful. The rooms were beautifully furnished and we slept so well on the comfy beds. The rooms were amazingly clean - kudos to the staff! We didn’t use the hot tub but that area looked very inviting as was the garden. The rooftop terrace provided a 360 degree view of the city. I loved the location with lots of restaurants nearby. We used Uber and Waymo to get around the city. I loved staying in an old Victorian mansion. We enjoyed the delicious breakfast buffet and meeting other guests in the parlour. Overall, a most wonderful experience!
