This little Inn was such a a delight for us to find. It’s in the middle of Santa Cruz and Monterrey, in a very quiet rural area. The entire place was VERY clean. Rooms were comfortable and spacious. You are right next to the Highway but it didn’t bother us one bit. The water was HOT in the showers!! Great purified water machine in the lobby and a great coffee machine that made a variety of different coffee drinks like espresso, lattes etc. Great price for the night. Loved this little spot! Also felt super safe.

I work for Santa Cruz County and collaboratively with Monterey County on community development, engagement and planning. We were three guests in total, with a confirmed booking for the dates of 04/27/2025 to 04/29/2025. When we entered our room, we were immediately appalled by unclean sheets. They appeared to have “brownish” stains with specks on them and unknown human hair. We expressed our concern to the front desk receptionist, who, after consulting with management, moved us to two separate king rooms as a resolution.
The following morning (04/28/2025) around 10:30 a.m., we received a call from the front desk requesting that we move back into the previously contaminated room. Trusting that the room had been properly cleaned, we complied. However, to our surprise we found the same dirty sheets still on the bed, turned over to conceal the contamination.
When we brought this to the staff’s attention, a different receptionist responded unprofessionally. He instructed us to "get out of the room so we can put the new sheet in," and remarking "but you were taken care of last night, bro," brushing off the situation. Further discussion followed, to which we were told to leave the premises without resolution.
I have filed formal complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the Monterey County Department of Health, and the county supervisor responsible for this district.
My primary concern is the clear violation of health and safety standards. The improper handling of unsanitary conditions raises very serious public health risks. If this is how contamination issues are addressed, it is probable other guests have unknowingly been exposed as well.

I’ve read the response from management and I want to clarify that at no point did I use profanities or was otherwise “hostile”. Was I upset? Yes. But there was no reason to escalate the situation further. I voiced legitimate health concerns as any guest has the right to do when faced with insanitary conditions. It’s sad and disappointing to see the situation being led on with misleading claims and deflection instead of accountability. I stand by my experience, not just for me but for other guests who may have been faced with similar circumstances.

Yes, the property is located in front of a cemetery, but it’s far from scary. In fact, I'm a total scaredy-cat, and I found the rooms to be incredibly peaceful. We were warmly welcomed by two wonderful people on two separate days so the experience was great!!!!! – a kind gentleman and a sweet young lady. The rooms were spotless, and the service was outstanding. I highly recommend it. The views were also fantastic!

Incredibly clean and great value, especially for the location. Only reasons for 4/5 stars...
1. Room walls were a bit thin so we heard loud hotel guests leaving early in the morning, while we tried to sleep
2. Room was a bit small with a double bed (maybe a small queen)
Otherwise, incredible value and arguably the best front desk staff of any hotel we've ever stayed in... So informative with restaurant suggestions.

It was my first vacation with my significant other and I don’t have a single complaint. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. The room was completely clean and I loved every second of our stay. It was hard to leave! But we will be returning shortly. 🙂 This hotel is amazing!

I stumbled upon this gem. It’s cozy with a warm color palette, comfortable seating, and soft textures. It has a welcoming ambiance, pleasant lighting and friendly staff. The room was very clean, equipped with modern amenities and a small refrigerator. The bed was extremely comfortable as were the pillows. Close to beach and restaurants.

10/10! One of the cleanest hotels we’ve stayed at. Everyone was so nice and welcoming.
