I had an amazing experience at the Inn at Buckhorn Cove. The room I booked was not only clean and comfortable, but it also came with a charming fireplace that added to the cozy ambiance. The location right on Route 1 was incredibly convenient, granting easy access to Mendocino town and various other attractions.

However, there's one crucial tip I'd like to share: make sure to receive an email from the host with all the check-in details, including the entry code, prior to your arrival. This is essential because the inn lacks a front desk for check-in, and the area has limited mobile coverage. The host, Amy, is an absolute lifesaver and incredibly helpful, so reaching out to her is a breeze if you're in need.

The bathroom facilities were top-notch, and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to unwind. With its excellent amenities and Amy's attentive assistance, I wholeheartedly recommend the Inn at Buckhorn Cove to anyone looking for a memorable stay.

My husband and I stayed in the Zen Suite for three nights. It was spacious, clean and private. It was really nice to have a kitchen to prepare our meals since most places are takeout right now. The picture window had a nice view of trees and ocean behind. The coastal cloud cover cleared and that made the view more enjoyable. The check In was quick and efficient. They truly went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed while we were there. The sitting area on the side was private and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

Beautiful, clean, perfectly sized rooms about 3 miles south of Mendocino. Absolutely beautiful place and reasonable pricing, quiet when we went in march and would absolutely stay again. Feels like it’s your own little independent cabin. We liked being a bit away from the town and these were the most comfortable hotel beds I’ve ever been in! Thank you !!

We stayed in the Zen suite with our dog. The experience was cozy, clean, comfortable and dog friendly. The suite is very private and quiet. We had an excellent view of the sunset from our room’s bay window. We also saw plenty of wildlife outside, including birds and a deer that ran by.||The suite has a full kitchen with all the necessities, though the smoke detector went off every time we cooked. Wifi signal was flakey but worked well enough for us to go online and look up restaurants and destinations. There are no cell reception in the area and no business nearby in walkable distance. Heat is provided by a gas fireplace with a “smart” thermostat in a remote control. The jacuzzi tub is huge with plenty of room for two people. The shower is on the small side.||Check-in is at their main property 4 miles away; they don’t have anyone on site. There is a maid service that comes by every day, and they did a very good job.||Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay, and it was an excellent value.

Stayed in the Zen Suite for a Family of 3 trip for our Wedding Anniversary. The place was everything we dreamed of and needed for a nice quiet getaway! The room was perfectly laid out and had a beautiful ocean view on a clear day (which all days were clear for us in May). The spa tub was the cherry on top for true relaxing therapy. The kitchenette was also perfect...and we appreciated the full fridge! Many people bring down the reviews due to being located remotely...but this is why we chose this place :)!

We stayed in the Sunset Room with our dog, cozy, nicely decorated. The gas fireplace heating the room was an added touch. Everything we needed coffee pot, microwave, small refrigerator. Beaches and hiking trails close by, Mendocino not far up the road. Small beautiful little property, very quiet. Exactly what we wanted for our Anniversary.

Wonderful little cottages looking out over the ocean, just a few minutes out of Mendocino. We stayed for a couple of nights as a stop on a road trip and really enjoyed this place, and the hospitality we received from Anne and Hank. They even left us a card when they heard it was our anniversary! The views are spectacular, the bed is extremely comfortable, and there are only a few cottages on the property, so it was very quiet and relaxing. Mendocino itself is a wonderful little town filled with shops and restaurants. Definitely worth checking out.

More like 3.5 stars. Must pick up keys at a different location in Mendocino before arriving to this inn. Can drop off keys in a bin near the inn. It was a decent place to stay at but there were some issues with the place.

Pros: No bug problem. I did keep the place as clean as possible with no crumbs to avoid ants. Very comfortable and roomy clean bathroom. Great showers. They have fridge and microwave. Very pet friendly. They left some treats for my dog as well as some poop bags and bed sheet and towel for pet. It was nice and quiet.

Cons: When turning on the microwave, there was a strong burnt smell permeating in the room. Bed sheets, blankets and towels had a musty odor. It was understandable to not use strong fragrance to be eco-friendly but the musty smell can be pungent. Not many places to walk nearby. It was difficult to close screen door in the room.

Overall it was an okay place to stay at.
