This is a great place if you need to rent a hall in the East Bay. Nice folks who are very helpful and easy to work with. Historic, large ballroom/chandeliers upstairs with large stage connections for bands/musicians, casual fun dining area downstairs huge bar, gated parking lot with additional free city parking at Muni Lot #4 on C St, Cinema Place Parking Garage on Foothill and street parking, 1/2 mi from downtown BART station.

I have attended 2 events at the Portuguese Hall and enjoyed the experience on both occasions. The first was an annual crab feed fundraiser where families and friends filled the downstairs room of the hall with chatter and laughter and we feasted on hot cioppino & cold garlic marinated crab (See photo). The hall was packed but it was still easy to move around and visit with friends.
The second event was a reception for visiting Portuguese dignitaries. This event was held in the upstairs theater, with plenty of room to move about. It was decorated in a casual but classy way with tall tables for easy conversation and chairs in the middle for those listening to speeches.
I recommend the hall for any event. The organizers are friendly and easy to work with and it is conveniently located in downtown Hayward.

The “C” Street Hall in Hayward, as it has been affectionately referred to over the years, rich with history and a warm-hearted, caring group of members, officers, and accommodating staff, has always been a wonderful event venue. The Hall provides more than adequate space to simultaneously hold separate events, for either separate groups or the same group, with its Dance Hall upstairs and the Dining Hall area downstairs. I highly recommend this location for any event!!!

This hall is a great place to have an event. The location is great with plenty of parking, and it’s in a quiet neighborhood. Inside has plenty of room with a dedicated bar, dance floor and stage. To top it all off, the organization is very friendly and great to work with. I highly recommend!

The PFSA Hall, which I’ve known as the I.D.E.S. Hall since I was a kid in Hayward some 70+ years ago, was then, and is still now a favorite gathering spot for our Portuguese friends and relatives. Such a great place to reconnect and stay in touch. Did I mention that the food and wine are always top notch? Well, they are. This hall is also a great place to hold your wedding reception, birthday party, anniversary celebration - you name it.
