Stayed at the Hyatt Regency Deerfield and was surprised by how big it is. The lobby is massive, super open, and full of natural light gives off a great first impression. The king room was updated and had a nice sitting area, which made it easy to fit a crib without things feeling tight. And major bonus: the fridge was actually a real fridge, not one of those sad little cooler boxes. Kept everything cold like it’s supposed to.

The shower situation was a bit weird no door, just a half-glass panel. Seems like that’s the trend in hotels now, but still kind of a pain with the water splash. No fold-out luggage rack in the room either. And parking felt like a bit of a hike to the elevators.

That said, for the price, it was a great value. Clean, updated, spacious definitely felt like we got more than we paid for. Would stay again.

4 stars due to the great rate / value. Definitely a step up from Hyatt place or the other hotels in the essentials collection given this is in the timeless collection. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. Our fridge did not work but the staff offered to bring up a new one. The bathroom is nice, but I didn’t care for the half glass wall - would have preferred a door to keep the heat in. The lobby is well maintained. The hallways (at least on level 6) could use some care due to chipping paint and missing numbers. Lobby always had flavored water and sometimes even had freshly baked treats. We had another small issue but the staff quickly resolved it.

This hotel is pretty frustrating.||It has great potential -- the core design of the guest rooms is spacious, and the furnishings within them are nice. The lobby is lovely, and the team and food in the restaurant are both WAY above average for a hotel restaurant.||Yet, it just falls short of the Hyatt Regency brand standard in a few ways. Across my last two stays, there's been problems.||Stay one: I got checked-in to a room and the room had clearly not been cleaned--all of the drawers were open, the bed was a mess, pillows were scattered. I was assigned another room, but the staff member was weirdly defensive about it instead of just apologizing and moving on.||Stay two: I needed to print documents. The hotel has a business center off the lobby with two printers. Too bad, on both nights of my stay, neither computer in the business center had a functional internet connection, making printing impossible. I pointed this out the first night to the front desk associate; it wasn't fixed overnight (there wasn't even so much as a sign put on the business center door to alert guests to the malfunctioning computers).||I thus asked the front desk to print the document. They did so. However, when I came out of the business center (around 10pm), no employee was at the desk--and it stayed like this for 15 minutes, until the employee emerged from the office next door. This is too long to keep guests waiting, and it's also a safety issue, as anyone could enter the hotel and get to guest rooms without any hotel staff so much as noticing.||The hotel also needs renovation in spots. I'd say the renovation that was done was sort of a half-renovation--the 6th floor hallways look really nice. Hallways on lower floors are full of ripped carpets. The fitness center's equipment is actually rusting (especially the bike). Twice I've had to ask to be assigned to a different room because of major issues with HVAC functionality or noise.||The hotel's recognition for Globalist guests is also poor. There's no lounge and no alternative (e.g., discount in the bar, etc.) offered. ||Overall, it's not horrible, but there's a lot of potential that's left on the table and, for a full service Hyatt, annoying little service gaps that make the property just fall short of what one should expect from a Hyatt Regency.

The feather pillows were a big issue for me — I had an allergic reaction, which made the stay quite uncomfortable. I believe everything in a hotel should be hypoallergenic. While the hotel looks nice overall and has a decent appearance, I can only give it 3 out of 5. I probably wouldn’t stay there again. On a positive note, the breakfast and staff were both very good

Poor management! Terrible rooms! Bad smells hallways! Only good part is the STAFF. GM needs to be fire ! Hotel needs to be renovated! Owners please spend money on upgrades. It’s great property parking lot is good. Felt like i was staying at motel 6.

Great clean room at a great price! I wish I could give more stars for the service! Samuel who works at the front desk is one of the most pleasant caring and overall greatest people I've encountered. I travel a lot for work and have never had someone as nice polite and willing to help.

Rooms are HOT in the winter. HVAC will not cool the room. Windows won't open so you're stuck with very hot rooms. No option to use COOL Mode. Engineering at the hotel said my best option is to "turn the HVAC unit OFF. But even then, since the windows cant be opened, you are stuck with a hot room w stake, non-circulating air.

This is the worst hotel ever. Do not stay! I stay in a lot of hotels across the USA. I have never ran into, “we can’t turn in the air conditioner because it will freeze”. The rest of the hotel’s air conditioners are on but not in the rooms. My room is was 78 degrees. I complained 5 times and had 20 of my colleagues complain also. The staff wouldn’t turn them on. I would not stay here. Rather stay in a motel 6 with air conditioning and/heater to control temp.
