My wife and I stayed here 11 years ago when it was a Holiday Inn. We enjoyed two things. It was March Madness so when we weren't doing Fairbanks stuff, hiking in snow and Northern Lights were napping, watching March Madness or warming up from walking in the cold in the hot tub. The hot tub is gone in the change to Hyatt, the pool is a little grimy and the television reception is about 1975 quality. The plus is the breakfast really buffet. The food was very good and the staff made it very nice. However, when you can't always see numbers on the backs of jerseys on your 55 or 65 inch tv, not so good and no hot tub... This room was about $100 per night more than two places that only had a hot tub, we chose the one with both and got neither. Oddly enough the hot tub is still in the pictures on the Hyatt page for the site. The manager was very nice and tried to be accommodating but the lack of clarity was system wide. Other rooms had identical picture quality. Like I said, the staff tried to make it better, but...||||The room is clean, nice, if a bit sterile, the bed not great and all of this at Hyatt prices without what we really wanted to have.

The rooms were clean and comfortable. The beds were pretty comfortable and there were more than two pillows per bed, so it was easy to adjust to your sleeping preferences. The best part was the black out shades! They blocked out almost all the light. Since there was a pool there was something for my kiddo too. Its super close to shopping and food. Overall great stay!

The King rooms on the 4th floor are so spacious. I found myself thinking multiple times that I could happily move into an apartment that size and layout. It was great for setting up a pack n play but still having a couch/sitting area where you didn't have to worry about making too much noise. My son also loved swimming.

The staff were outstanding. This was my first solo trip and they were all kind and reassuring. I had so many questions and they all answered them with great advice. My room was spotless clean and was cleaned every other day. I never heard anyone outside my room or any noise at all. Breakfast was really good. Much better than prepacked foods at other hotels. I was there for 10 days and would gladly stay again.

I read poor reviews and was nervous because I'm here for 10 days. The rooms are very clean. I took a flashlight and checked everywhere for bed bugs, stains, or dirt. It was clean and safe. I have not heard 1 sound in the hallway or from other rooms. The breakfast was very good. The food was hot and well prepared. It wasn't the prepackaged stuff you get at other places. I came in well after midnight and the shuttle driver picked me up at the airport and was so friendly. I've had my room cleaned every other day and I haven't needed to ask for anything. These beds are very comfortable. I never saw anything to warrant poor reviews and I'd stay again if I ever came back to Fairbanks.

This hotel is right on a major road that is busy around the clock. The noise level in my room was so loud from the street traffic, it kept me up all night long. I got no sleep or rest in this hotel because of the constant loud vehicle traffic right outside my window. The noise continued all through the night at all hours. I will not stay here again, nor recommend it to anyone. Other than that, the room was modern and clean, with a nice walk in shower. The free breakfast buffet was nice. Rooms in the non street side of the hotel are liklier quieter. If you want to sleep in your hotel room, you should definitely request that if available, otherwise stay at a different hotel.

When we checked in, we were disappointed to find that the nearby and adjoining rooms that were requested were not honored and the hotels fix was to put a room full of children a few rooms down from their parents. We made that work and got changed for the pool and hot tub. But wait! There is no hot tub! The photo of the hot tub on the website is from pre 2024 and they haven't gotten around to updating it with photos of just the pool (no hot tub).
Ok, disappointing, but Chena Hot Springs is an hour away. Swim for a bit - with chewed gum on the bottom of the pool - and head back up to shower before heading to dinner. Mold in the shower.
You'd think that would be the end of the shower issues, but we woke up with no hot water. The hotel's offer of 3000 points was insulting (keep in mind that one night at this hotel would have been 18,000 points)and ridiculous. We won't be staying at Hyatt Place in the future.
The only redeeming qualities are in the bartenders, Amy and Victoria, who went out of their way to try to make our stay more pleasant.
If you aren't concerned about hot tubs and cleanliness, the hotel is in a great location and within walking distance to many local businesses.
I did call corporate and they blew me off.
