We stayed downtown for a couple of nights and then wanted to check out the amazing pool we'd read about at the Hyatt Oak Brook. The reviews didn't exaggerate. It was great. Bring your pool toys if you are traveling with kids. ||||The hotel, despite being older, is in great shape. It was clean, classy, and beautiful. ||||As far as the "included American breakfast" goes, if you opt for that when you book, does not force you to eat the actual American breakfast on the menu. There's been a lot of fuss on here about that. They must have changed their policy after the complaints. Crystal, at the restaurant, made it clear we could choose anything at the same price. We got a really good salmon bagel, avocado toast, and pancakes. All were delicious.

Absolutely love staying here. This is our go to place for a staycation. The staff is amazing, espically Raul. He is very accommodating, making sure we are very well taken care of. Nice big pool & hot tub, and lovely sensory. The breakfast is really good also. 10 out of 10, would def recommend.

The staff is very warm and welcoming. The views are wonderful, whether it's from the lobby, pool, or your room. It's so peaceful on the grounds. Trail walks and picnics on the grounds are quite the sensory experience. The spa is our favorite place to with an exceptional pool that stays open late.

I’m a globalist and at check in at 4pm they told me my room wasn’t ready and that they’d text me when it was. Since we had another family there already with a room, took my girls to that room to change and enjoy the pool. At 6:30pm they still hadn’t texted me about the room! I went to the front desk and asked and the room was ready they just never contacted me! ||We love the pool. The property is simple and basic but very clean. The free breakfast was decent and very large portions. General the facility is simple but nice. ||The service could be better.

I stayed here 1 night with my son and husband who had a conference on site. This hotel is also pet friendly so we brought our dog and there is a $50 standard pet fee and plenty of grassy areas and dog waste bag stations scattered around the property. We checked in pretty late at 12 30 am and the parking lot is a bit of a hike, but the lady at checkin was very nice and said we could park up front and move our car in the morning. Also, I was able to do a complimentary late 1 pm checkout as a world of hyatt member. The hotel has valet parking available during the day and free self parking. All of the hotel staff were very friendly and professional. The rooms are slightly dated but the bedding and pillows were very comfortable and the shower pressure was great! The exterior property grounds are very nice with a lovely pond and meticulously manicured grounds and lots of sidewalks where you can take a nice walk. My son and I had a difficult time falling asleep as I could hear guest's conversations outside from 1 am until almost 2:30 am so I turned the TV on to help me fall asleep. I only noticed the patio access door to the exterior when I woke up in the morning. Since we were on the 1st floor, that's why I heard the conversations. We checked in on Friday night and this hotel hosts a lot of conferences and events so I am understanding of this, but it kept me up and I wish I brought some ear plugs. Overall, this is a nice hotel with great conference spaces and a lovely view.

This is a peaceful and relaxing place to stay. The beds are super comfy, the linens are soft and the staff is friendly. The pool is outstanding but there were a lot of families with kids. There is also a nice sitting area in the lobby featuring a fireplace. The Oak Brook mall is just 5 minutes away by car.

Nice hotel, beautiful architecture and nature setting. Hotel rooms were nice. Everything was clean and well cared for. The pool was huge as was the hot tub, but it was SO noisy. When we went back in the night, the pool was so dark that I was afraid to let my children swim in in because I thought I wouldn't' be able to see them well enough to monitor them from the sidelines. We enjoyed the pool in the morning when it was very well lit and not so noisy. Don't be fooled buy buying the "breakfast" option. You're only allowed one specific type of breakfast - scrambled eggs, potatoes, and meat. I was very unhappy about this as it never specified it was such a limited option. No substitutions allowed. My kids preferred pancakes and those were $17 and no thing special. I felt very duped by this. Also the place is sprawling, but at check-in no one gave us the slightest direction how to navigate - only where the two restaurants were. It was very confusing. We tried to get food in the lodge one evening and were never acknowledged, so we just left. We tried to call from the room to see if we could have it sent up, but were told that they won't answer the phone so we should go down ourselves to place an order (which we'd already tried). Overall, the place was beautiful, but it definitely lacked in service and amenities. We wanted to watch a movie, but all we could do was rent one for $22. (at the Hampton Inn we were in the night before we could log into our Netflix, which was so much better. Super tasty breakfast was included too). Overall, this place was just lacking service and not a great value.

The SPA... I went to the Hyatt only for spa services. Parking was a pain. You have to park across the street, check in with the front desk, then walk FOREVER to get to the fitness center/ spa. Be mindful that you need the key to get in. There is a tiny click that indicates that the door is unlocked. I was welcomed by Agnes, who gave me an amazing massage that felt like it lasted more than 50 minutes. The pressure was perfect, and she kept checking in with my comfort. I would definitely request her again. Afterward, you are welcome to use the hotel amenities. I used the steam room (sauna wasn't working) in the ladies' locker room. It was quiet, clean, and felt amazing. The pool had a wonderful view, and the temperature was perfect. The hot tub was great, but there was scum along the edges and a smell that was not "hot tub like." It was clean, but i had my doubts. It was a great experience overall. I would return in the summer as it seems there are beautiful walking trails.
