Hutchins Street Square offers great classes for seniors!! For many years, I was a regular beginning tap student (aka Sassy Senior Tappers). I loved that class. Now I am loving the new line dancing class for seniors. It just started today, August 7. It’s SO fun, and what an excellent way to get exercise while stimulating the ol’ “gray matter!” Nora is the perfect instructor for newbies like me!

Very nice venue to hold events such as wedding reception, birthdays and parties. We delivered 160 Chiavari chairs to this location for a wedding reception and the staff at the facility was very helpful when closing up at night.

Contrary to the previous reviewer, you can rent a room and offer a class. You would just have to actually rent it, and they may choose not to advertise it as it is not their class. The halls are beautiful especially Kirst hall and patio. Also check out the Holtz room which also has an amazing patio. Holtz was renovated last year and looks amazing. The Charlene Powers Lange Theatre is awe inspiring, one of the nicest I have been to. Near the classrooms there is a hall with busts of famous composers. They offer a summer music in the park concert series free to the community. They also have some pretty cool programs.
This facility was originally a high school until it burned down. The story I was told by a former student was that the arsonists were worried that they would not be allowed to graduate. They broke into the admin building and in the process of burning their school records; they lost control of the blaze and burned down a good portion of the school.
My understanding is that Kirst was the old gym. Crete kitchen was possibly the cafeteria. Lange Theatre was the auditorium but the stage was on the opposite side of the building.

Enjoying my first ever yoga class on Monday night from 6-7pm, and feeling it! Although it, I believe, is considered an advanced class the instructor takes the time to have students adjust their workout to fit their abilities. My wife has joined me, she is much better than I am, and although she expected the class to be to boring, she's a Zumba person, she has found it challenging and actually inspiring. Looking forward to continuing in the future.
Thank you Melody for making this work for us!

The facilities are amazing. The place is top notch. However, it is not a true community center. If you can not rent space and offer classes if they don't see a need for your class. The "gate keeper" for renting space to offer classes makes her decision immediately without research, without consultation with others, in her opinion if your course offering is not a fit for the center and the community they will not let you rent space and offer it! She offers no expertise or facts to back up her decision. She takes all of about two seconds to say no, very rudely and intimidating. I understand they don't want people offering course on strange or inappropriate things. However, when a reasonable course is put forth there should be a better process for consideration. The revenue loss is on the applicant not on the facility. The "community" center should be more about community and not about personal agendas.

This venue has everything you will need for a beautiful event. There are a variety of event rooms with audio/visual options. The venue itself is beautiful with lots of parking, great staff and it is well maintained. We love hosting our events there. Perfect for weddings, concerts, mixers, graduations, quinceaneras and hosting classes.

I was demeaned and verbally abused by both the bus driver and the attendant. The bus engine was left running on high with the bus door opened the entire duration of the tour. I want my money back. The person's leading our group must be reprimanded. Shouting at mobility challenged by a group leader of a ticketed event is a federal offense.
The staff had the knowledge of an inmate in "One Flew Over The CoCoo's Nest". My daughter requested we be driven to our car as there was no real or new information for our family and the roaring engine noise, in the expansive wilderness. The staff, Turned the full bus, by Embarrassment, all of the customers against my disabled self and family. I am willing to go public and claimes.court to get my money back! All the hype is absent from the product.
