5/5

When I got there, the room that I had initially been assigned hadn't been cleaned. I was going to leave a lower review, but your receptionist was phenomenal and only took a couple of minutes to get me into a room that had been cleaned. Mistakes happen, and it shouldn't affect the review of the hotel. Your receptionist, whose name I did not get but was a sweet woman working in the evening, was phenomenal and handled it with class and charm. Definitely a place I'll come back to a lot of confidence has been instilled by that one receptionist.

Was forced to stay here due to car breaking down. Cost was $100, far exceeding its value.

Room had bed bugs, staff politely moved rooms for us. Staff were nice but hotel is dated and dark, and has bugs. Pool looks grim. Would never ever stay here again.

No fruit at continental breakfast.

Electric shock from door access handle when entering card.

This hotel is definitely dated. There is an odd old smoky musty smell in the hallways. However I tend to judge on other aspects. All the amenities worked. Ice machines, continental breakfast, pool and hot tub were clean and working. Fridge in the room worked, TV, AC, heater So for the price this place is perfect. Sure the rooms are dated and what not but for the price near the grand canyon you can't beat this place for a family stay on a budget, and it's quiet. It's also within walking distance to a bunch of local restaurants, breweries, gas stations and a McDonalds. 50 minute drive to the Grand Canyon also the Meteor Crater is 70 minute drive away. Highly recommend.

Positive: It's location. It is right around where we wanted to explore locations related to Grand Canyon. Negative: 1. Cleanliness - This is a big issue. The carpets were all dirty. Linens were very substandard with worn out.2. The vanity sink was not draining. Iron was not working, AC was not cooling effectively, Hair dryer wasn't working

We stayed for.two nights. Good value for the room. Two stories, no elevator. Indoor pool and Jacuzzi. Simple breakfast, opens.at 6 am Waffles are the only thing worthwhile. Room was good. Beds average. Bathroom with tub shower combo, exterior sink. Everything worked, refrig, micro wave, tv. Common area was dirty, room was clean.

I’ve stayed mostly in Hilton or Marriott 100x in lifetime. Usually at 2x of this Howard Johnson. Owner has everything really nice…perhaps slightly outdated (which isn’t really fair, but most everything is a touch worn), but absolutely spotless clean and well-appointed. I’d stay here anytime I’m on I40 going east or west. ||Seriously, there is nothing missing and everyone was very professional. Free breakfast was excellent.||I give this place 5-stars, not for the level of luxury, but for the overall bang for the buck.

The beds were terrible. Sloping on both sides due to people sitting on the edges because there is no where else to sit in the room. The curtains did not keep out the morning sun. The breakfast area was very crowded. It's too small for the facility. The choice of food was very limited. No bagels or peanut butter or eggs of any sort. Styrofoam cups for the hot coffee is never a good choice. The staff were helping them selves while the breakfast area as I mentioned was already very crowded. They should have waited for the patrons were finished.

Positive: Location to explore both the Grand Canyon and Sedona. Negative: Breakfast selection was minimal at best. Cleanliness of the breakfast room was horrible... the white blinds were filthy. The key card to enter the room consistently stopped working. Garbage, old air-conditioners, sinks, etc... were piled up in the back.
