I'm giving a two star review simply based on the manager and their "practice" of requiring a "cash deposit".

I checked in and the front desk person said, "I just need $200 for the deposit". I was confused as I booked on Hotels.com and prepaid. I said "do you mean like hold a charge on my card for incidentals?" She said "no, a deposit of $200 for any damages." I immediately said no and demanded the manager. He came and claimed it was "standard practice" and I called bullshit. He claimed people check out and then cards are unreliable for charging.

I travel to Paso 2-3 times a year. I have NEVER encountered this practice of a $200 CASH deposit in my life. I've stayed at the Adelaide Inn, The Holiday Inn, La Quinta, Black Oaks Best Western, and a small roadside motel on Spring Street. The manager is clearly up to something.

He eventually "waived" the fee but I was angry. There was NOTHING in my booking that mentioned this. Plus I became worried he would claim I damaged the room when I didn't. I took before and after photos that in case.

It's a shame because my room was nice, it was clean, and the other staff members were friendly. The price (without the garbage deposit) was very reasonable. But I will NOT return and I warned all my travel friends (my daughter shows horses so we know MANY travelers to Paso) to avoid this hotel.

I am extremely disappointed with this hotel, especially based on the amount we paid for 1 room. The amenities are the bare minimum for a hotel at this price point. There was no breakfast, the weight room is laughable and no one at the front desk when we arrived. The website promises way more than is actually offered. The only positive is that the room was clean.

Not a great property, and located in a dismal spot behind a declining Rite Aid, with an absolutely lethal parking lot entry to the hotel from a view-limited bend in a major artery (24th Street) off 101. Heavy, constant traffic outside the door, no amenities, and footsteps from a major vehicular intersection. And, the service wasn't great. Not friendly, or seemingly interested in being accommodating when I asked whether a second floor room was available instead of my parking-space facing ground floor room, in an empty, mid-week hotel. Stay somewhere else.

We stayed here on Dec 27-29 2024. Absolutely filthy. Service was terrible. Staff was rude. We had nasty filthy sheets so we went down to the office to get Service at 9:58 pm. Sign says they close at 10pm. No answer at the office. My wife walks back up to the room to get her phone so she can call in and finally gets a response at 1002pm... we're closed!. She explains the situation and mentions in addition that we don't have a remote to the TV. They respond, "we're not laundry service... we don't have sheets" WTH? The walk into the square in Paso is too far. The place is full of transients. It's just not a good, clean, safe or friendly place to stay. It's certainly not worth the money we paid to stay there. There's a Courtyard Marriott equal distant that much better and same price. Don't waste time on this place.

When we arrived, the person at the check-in counter said little to nothing during the check-in process.

The first night the people staying next to us were very loud. The noises lasted until the following morning. I asked the manager at the desk if we could change rooms. He originally offered to put us in another room on the opposite side of the problem room.

Obviously, that was not a valid solution to the problem. It was then agreed upon that we would clear out of the room and come back later for a different room. That didn’t happen.

We had to spend a second night next to the problem people. When I expressed my disenchantment with our experience, the manager raised his voice and intimated that it was all my fault. No apology

It seems that when armed with multiple solutions for good customer service, the option of doing nothing should not have been high on the list.

Absolutely terrible experience. Spilled on my sheets in the morning. Had made service requested on door. Returned to room at 9:45pm, the maid service sign was off, however room was not cleaned nor sheets replaced. Went to front desk, person was rude and told me initially he didn't have sheets and he isn't laundry. What kind of front desk can't give you sheets? No apology for the terrible service. When pushed, he finally found 1 top sheet to use. Also room had no remote control, front desk said they couldn't do anything about that either.

I had to cancel my reservation due to a family emergency and I wanted to rebook for another time. The front desk was no help in rebooking for the future and wouldn’t allow me to receive any refund. I felt very stuck in already horrible circumstances. When I called at future dates the front desk was extremely rude, raising their voice and refusing to help understand my situation. Unfortunately one of the most frustrating customer experiences

Norman at the front desk warmly greeted my friend and I as we arrived. He suggested some great places to visit downtown. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. The hotel is conveniently located across from the fair grounds.
