We came here after having a nightmare experience with our other lodging arrangements at St Anna's house (which we found out was infested with roaches and very unclean). We rolled in about 11pm and walked into the owners having a fight in a room right behind the front desk. We rang the bell, and I explained we needed a hero to save us from what we just experienced at the other place. She began to cry and stated she wasn't sure she could help, because she was going through some issues of her own. Huh? She then disappeared back behind the door to her room, and proceeded to fight with her husband/boyfriend for another ten minutes (what?!) until we left to find another place. She then followed us out to the car to try and get us to come back. We felt bad for her, and we hope she finds peace. But for the love of God, could you have just given us a room before you fought your husband and not made us feel uncomfortable staying? Good luck to the woman though, we praying for you homie! And I will say, we loved the lobby at least, minus the fight. 🤣

Property is in a somewhat good location but the manager behavior wasn't expected. On a long weekend, she refused to give a room though it was booked and she charged us for it. I would really not recommend to anyone just due to personal experience.

I wanted to love this hotel but, was disappointed.
We checked in and the front desk was super nice.
Went upstairs to settle in and checked the mattress. As we do all places we stay. They said they don’t do refunds but would place us in another room….just checked out and went elsewhere. Cool historic vibe. Minus the biohazard bed.

Bed is squeaky and uncomfortable. Outlet plugins are not up to code and a fire hazard. Front desk is rude and I caught her trying to sneak into our room when she thought we were still grabbing stuff in the car this morning. When asked the reason for trying to get intro our room she had no answer and got aggressive

I really like this Hotel when I’m in town visiting family. It’s really beautiful and feels like sleeping in my own bed at home. It’s convenient to all downtown shops and restaurants.

I liked the Hotel Burgess very much. I read the reviews and almost did not choose to stay here... Yet it didn't seem like it would be very noisy in a small town. I loved the historic hotel. The rooms are small because that is how they were designed back when it was built. It has been maintained to show it's history. My mom was clean and cozy. I was awakened once during the night by a hot rod going down the street. If you want a large room that is very up to date this hotel is not for you. Find a Hilton somewhere else. If you enjoy the eclectic and historical, this place is for you.

All around cutrate. This historic hotel used to be so amazing. Sterile white room had ill fitting bottom sheet that came off to expose mattress every night. No top sheet. 2 very flat pillows, not enough to sit up and watch TV for 1 person let alone 2. Only 1 place to sit-desk chair. No where else to sit to watch tv, as the bed was out of the question due to lack of pillows. Towel hook fell off wall. No automatic room service. You had to go down stairs to ask for them to clean your room, and to give you toilet paper. Told to put toilet paper in trash can-yuck. Pink mildew in bathroom sink, and in shower. Probably because the fan was broken. Empty alcohol bottle under bed. Smoke alarm removed. Old, stained, scratched, nightstands. Pictures show decorative pillows, accent chair, and wall hangings- none. Constant heavy perfume smell when you walk in hotel was horrible. Way over priced. Paid $110 per night plus taxes for total of $120 night. Stayed a week, no discount.|The only good things were the bed was comfortable, the front desk was friendly, and the hallways and stairs retained historic charm
