Stayed here for four nights and really enjoyed it. Was a solo traveller. Has shared toilet and shower facilities. Reasonably clean, but a good scrub and a coat of paint would make a big difference.||The 'rooms' are a single bed and a half wide and about 7 foot long. There is ventilation and lighting per room. The beds are clean and very comfortable. There are coffee making and water bottle filling facilities.||The location is very central with close access to Roosvelt train station. Easy to get to from the airport and easy walk to most of Chicago's attractions.||The staff were respectful, welcoming and helpful. Good value for money. Would stay here again anytime. I stayed in room 1010 and reckon it was the pick of the room as far as location goes. I believe they also have couples rooms.

Let's start with the positives: great location, good value for it's location, the interior looks pretty at first glance, and the beds are actually quite comfortable. But that is all the positive stuff I can say about this hotel. The shared bathrooms are filthy, the hotel is noisy (you can hear everything your neighbours do), the rooms themselves could also use a good cleaning, there are some blue lights on the mirrors in the rooms that you cannot turn off which makes sleep a lot more difficult, and it has been completely impossible to get a fresh towel all week. There was a really good idea here, small and cozy rooms for a good price at a great location. But the hotel has not been taken care of at all, the owners seem to not care about it at all, so it just leaves the impression of lost glory.

I stayed here just over a year ago but I'm seeing I didn't leave a review. I think about this place frequently, it's very unique here in America, in this instance it was exactly what I was looking for. I was taking a greyhound bus into town for the night, I needed a place to stay solo. I got a room here for around $100. That's my first bone of contention, the location is nice but I imagine at $50-75 a night this place would be packed every night.

My only complaint about the entire experience is that when I was assigned a room I opened it and it was dirty. The attendant said it was a mistake and asked me to wait 15 minutes while it was remedied. Kind of alarming in post pandemic times when a 15 minute cleaning is all it takes regardless of room size. It was fine, like I mentioned above I was commuting via bus so I could use the shower. I took a nice hot shower in the community (not super clean) shower facilities. When I got out my room was ready. I stored my stuff, laid down for a bit and headed out for my next adventure.

When I returned it was late, everything was fine. I went right to my room and laid down... exhausted.

It wasn't the best night's sleep but I don't fault the property for that at all. The next morning I was ready to go.

Again, I'd stay here anytime I'm in Chicago traveling alone unless there was an Airbnb nearby but know what you're getting into. This is very no frills. I loved it.

Perfect location. Serviceable rooms. Surprisingly quiet. I didn't have to speak to a soul. Good wifi. AC wasn't too bad. My room was very clean.

I wish I knew there was parking in the back. I didn't realize until I was leaving.

It is a microtel and there are shared bathrooms. If I had a noisy or inconsiderate neighbor it would have been a nightmare.

My biggest complaint is the absurdly bright blue light on the room's mirror. As far as I could tell there was no way to turn it off. If I didn't bring a blindfold I would have never slept.

This is not a hotel in an usual sense, it's more like a private room, very small private room with a shared bath in the hallway. The staff is friendly and helpful. Spend a little more, and get the bigger room with queen bed especially if you're not traveling alone.

The location is very good, right before the edge of downtown but quiet and safe. There are several busses almost right in front of the hotel. The L train is few blocks away, near Trader Joe's,a short walk. The transfer station is one over. The best part is Grant Park is a block away, and to get you a better idea > the famous Hilton Hotel is 2-3 blocks away. If you're planning to spend a lot of time in the hotel, this is not the place for you but if you're looking to save some money 💵 and just a place to sleep, here's the place.

Great location downtown Chicago. Within walking distance of Soldier Field and Shedd Aquarium. Perfect if you’re just staying by yourself and need a quick place to sleep.
Didn’t like that I had to share a bathroom and shower with others, but life goes on. Room was tiny, but like I said, if you need a last minute place to stay this is a good choice.

Can't beat the price for the location! You get what is advertised, a very small room with just a bed. The shared bathrooms weren't super clean, and the rooms get pretty warm during the day. The bed was not super comfy either. But it all did the trick, and that's all I'm asking for when I stay here. If you want any amenities or higher level of comfort, stay at any of the hotels down the street for twice or triple the price.

Definitely recommend bringing earplugs and a sleep mask - I didn't have any sound problems but I always bring earplugs everywhere, and the LED buttons on the mirror are pretty bright and don't shut off so the sleep mask was a lifesaver

First off, its inexpensive for 4 nights downtown, so it’s obviously not the four seasons. What you get is a clean room about the size of apartment walk in closet. Inside is a single bed, roku tv (bring your passwords for Netflix etc) with oddball live channels (Japanese baseball anyone?). There are switches for fans etc but I never played with them. The AC and Internet work great. There is only about 3’ between the bed and door so bag space is tight. There are 2 full bathrooms that are clean, functional, and work on a first come first serve basis. I only had to wait to use the bathroom once in 4 days. There is a small common area with free bottled water, microwave, and vending machine but no refrigerator. The guys who run the place are very nice. The parking is in a hidden area behind the hotel and is excellent for downtown (perfect for a motorcycle traveler). If your a smoker, the lot in the back is seconds away. The location is fantastic. By Grant Park, it’s a short walk to the Roosevelt train and bus stations, and about 15-20 minute walk to the Art Institute, Soldier Field, etc…. Grocery store, pharmacy, and plenty of restaurants close by
