Being a year-round traveler, it's always nice to check into an Autograph CollectionI Hotel. The Blackhawk Autograph Collection in Davenport, Iowa, is yet another hidden jewel, historical too. If I get a chance to be in a city that has a taste of elegance and a story to tell, that makes my stay even more special and sets this hotel apart from the others. The architecture is nicely done, the lobby, the old preserved spots in the hotel, the mail chute between the elevators, the old barber shop, the bell man antique pieces, the shoe shine, and the beautiful Golden Ballroom. Wow wow all the way wow.
That's not all, there is a fantastic group of people that work there, Steve the front desk, Julie and Ruth in the restaurant BIX, Ruth gave me a mini tour, and finally Tara Bebber F&B mngr I asked her one question about the design, and she was glad to extend an invitation to give me an even grander tour to show me things I didn't see.

My room is beautifully designed, i was on the 8th floor. It had another extended seating/ office area with a separate entrance door. The bed sheets and pillows were very nice and comfortable...
I liked the built-in TV in the bathroom mirror, which is definitely well appreciated.
I am deeply touched, with the elegance and charm of the hotel, and the amazing customer service and hospitality.
I only had breakfast here at the hotel, excellent selections, my favorite was the avocado tost, arugula and poached egg...
I am for sure coming back.

What a wonderful historical landmark the Blackhawk Hotel is. It was like going back in time. It was very charming, cozy and welcoming. The beds were comfortable and I slept very well. The lobby bar was very fun too. They even had a little room in the front to enjoy coffee and tea. The coffee was excellent. Thank you to the friendly staff!

Wonderful downtown stay! Easy off-street parking, fantastic room service, friendly staff, surrounded by food and drink. Easy walking to the arcade, shops, and other night life.

Great dining, breakfast, drinks and dinner. Good conversation, we heard about and attended the orchestra at the theater attached to the building.

Downstairs bar, bowling, pinball machines, pool table, great little hangout at night.

This is a beautiful, historic hotel downtown and within walking distance to many shops, restaurants, and bars. The staff were friendly and our corner room was large with great views of the river. Inenjoyed thumbing through the book outlining the history of the hotel, and wandering the halls, admiring the original features that were left in tact.

My biggest complaints were that we had to pay to park in a mostly empty lot. Paying for hotel parking is unusual for this area. Also, a half-drank bottle of sports drink was left in the mini-fridge, making me question cleanliness.

a very old hotel. Stay somewhere else. To the manager, I'd say your worst focus is housekeeping. Our room was unsatisfactory therefore that caused stress. We will not be staying there This is my review. There was no trashcan which cost and extra $10. The parking lot had over 5" of snow that wasn't plowed and cost $12 to park in with no validation. The Tv in bathroom did not turn on. There was only one robe and the bath towels were very, very rough and over bleached. The lighting in the bathroom was very bad for doing make up for my wife in room 516, the bulbs had dates written on them. Some were changed in 2015 the others that had little life in them could not be read. There was a very loud knocking across the hall at 0859. The thermostat screen was broken, could I not tell what the numbers said. The floors were dirty, small rocks in the corners where the tile meets the carpet and bed was uncomfortable. It's a very old hotel. Stay somewhere else. To the manager, I'd say your worst focus is housekeeping. Our room was unsatisfactory therefore that caused stress. We will not be staying there again.

We had a really nice stay for 2 nights while visiting Augustana College in Rock Island. The hotel is very conveniently located to get all around the QCA, and is within walking distance of many restaurants and places in downtown Davenport itself. Great views of the river and beautiful mansions on the river bluffs. The lobby of the hotel was beautifully decorated for the holidays, and our room was comfortable with a nice sitting area separated from the sleeping area. Beds were very comfortable.||That being said, there were a collection of little things that alone wouldn't have been a big deal, but compounded together made it seem like the place is missing some focus on standards expected of a full-service hotel such as this. Pool was closed (not advertised until we arrived), one of the weight benches was out of order, ATM was out of order, no cream or sugar with the in-room coffee, and the body wash in the shower had not been refilled. There was a very large parade on Saturday morning that, had we not known from family members (and thus moved the car in the early morning), would have blocked us into the parking lot for half of the day. That's something that we should have been informed of when we checked in on Friday. The Pershing St entrance on the parking lot side of the hotel is locked after 10pm, so you have to walk around to the 3rd St entrance. I understand security is important, but this makes it really inconvenient to enter the hotel after hours, especially if you have luggage (or if you have to go out to the parking lot and re-enter after hours). A key card scanner on the Pershing St side would suffice to restrict access after hours, while still allowing guests to enter more conveniently.

In town for business. Rooms are nice, a little dark due to old building using only lamps. It is nice that all the windows can actually be opened for fresh air. Bathroom was clean, minus a little mold in the corner of the shower, but not a big deal. You could only see it if you were really looking for it. The only thing that I have to complain about was the TV lost all signal for over an hour. Could be due to the storms that were rolling though. All in all a pretty good hotel, would visit again if I am back in the area.
