We enjoyed the history and theme of this hotel. The staff is friendly and accommodating. We stayed in the Penthouse for 2 nights. It is nice but needs a professional, deep cleaning. It was very dusty, cobwebs everywhere, even had a spider come out of the couch while we were watching television, but the views were very nice. The jacuzzi and balcony offers a nice, relaxing experience with great views of the river. The food that is provided through the hotel’s restaurant was nothing special, but got the job done.

This is an amazing hotel, I thoroughly enjoyed its historic qualities. The interior has been modernized as far as the necessary things go, but I loved the historic doors to the room, mail slot by the elevators and so many other cool features. We had a fourth floor River view which was amazing, the bed was comfortable and most importantly it was very clean. The service at the front desk and front door was also amazing,, everyone we dealt with was super friendly. We didn’t mind that the parking is not right there, even in January. Not too bad of a walk. I definitely look forward to staying here in the future.

We absolutely love this historic hotel! They were quite accommodating and let us check in early as we had an infant with us. Walking distance to so many restaurants and stores. The breakfast is amazing. The old fashioned charm of having a doorman! The front desk clerks were fast and friendly. And the hotel provided one of the best military discounts. Perfect weekend getaway hotel

The staff at Hotel Baker did an incredible job with our event. The food was great. The service excellent. Everyone was personable and helpful. Parking will always be a bit of a challenge but they kindly provided maps for our guests to all public parking which is plentiful and convenient. The Rainbow Room is a treasure.

We had our wedding at Hotel Baker. The time leading up was stressful from beginning to end. All due to their awful coordinator Tiffany Brewer. As cold as ice. A question is like an inconvenience. Not willing to help make the bride comfortable or give any positive spin. She loved saying "no." The owners are no better! Wrote a heartfelt note to the owner about our experience with Tiffany, and our concerns leading up to the wedding, and she never even replied, only to state her life was chaotic. Hotel Baker is a beautiful venue, but way overpriced for what you get (the chicken for $150 per person was so small guests were hungry. That is sad!) Floor lights broke and they made no amends. Please look somewhere else, or you will be out $25k, have hungry guests and a stressful engagement.

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Baker Sunday to Monday. We arrived at 4:00 and there was no problem checking in. We stayed in a King Spa Suite and it was a huge corner room! The room and the hot tub were clean and we loved the views. My only thing to note about the room (which is just something to note) is that there was no conditioner- only shampoo and body wash. The Rox Grill was not open on Sunday night but it was open Monday morning for continental breakfast. The breakfast was standard but tasty and everything was fresh. While staying here, we walked to Alter Brewing and the Whiskey Bend (both of which are within a short walk). We enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back.

I stayed here with my girlfriend in mid-December; we booked the penthouse expecting a great experience. It was far from it.

When we checked in, the staff was less than enthusiastic, they mumbled and didn't say more than a few words. When we got to our room we found it to be not clean. Food in the sofa cushions, towels with stains, and our bed linens with stains. The shower light worked intermittently, and the bathroom heat couldn't keep the bathroom at 68 degrees or close to it.

When we brought the towels and bed linens to the attention of the staff, they told us it would be taken care of. A few hours later we received an email from their customer service manager stating he had inspected the towels and linens and found nothing wrong. I've attached a picture of the bed linens, you can see for yourself how unacceptable it was.

We stayed 2 nights of our originally planned 5 nights, and left to go down the street.

This hotel is tired, and old. With that charm comes a lot of deferred maintenance and cleaning that appears to not be happening. Stay somewhere else.

The fact the owners don't respond to 1 star reviews should tell you all you need to know about this place. Historic, beautiful hotel, ruined by these "managers" who clearly don't give AF. This place was run better, as a brunch/buffet, when it used to be a rest home, lol. Unless you have $$ and time to waste, stay away.
